We continue to work through improvements with our worship service broadcasts. This Sunday we will have some parts of the service live in the sanctuary, and others will have been pre-recorded - we'll be cutting back and forth between the two. Should be terrific, and while we don't expect any hiccups, there might be one or two - it's all part of the process. We appreciate your patience.
Our ZOOM service will be open to the public. Please make a point of welcoming folks if you see them before the service begins, or on chat, during our coffee hour, or in a break-out group. As always, we are a diverse and welcoming community and pleased to have newcomers join our midst.
We will NOT be airing at 11AM on Facebook - a recorded service will be available later.

OUR SHARE THE PLATE RECIPIENT: CT BAIL FUND
|
|
The premise of bail is to ensure that criminal defendants show up for their court dates. People who cannot afford to post bail, however, can spend months in jail waiting for a trial.
Their crime? Being poor.
Many who face this prospect accept plea deals -- even when they are innocent. Those willing to contest their charges have much lower odds at building a strong case with adequate legal representation than defendants who can afford to post bail. They are also likely to endure additional punishments including the loss of their jobs, homes, and custody of their children.
Please help us help those who need our support. Our offering plate is available for gifts anytime: vop.tucw.org. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity.

Soul Matters “Healing” Lesson E: Healing takes work, and our faith also reminds us that healing involves being gentle with ourselves. When our feelings have been hurt and we’re sad and lonely, sometimes the best thing to do is comfort ourselves. One way might be comfort food. Another way might be to spend time with a beloved pet. So what’s one of the ways our faith guides us into becoming a people of healing? It tells us to “Find ways to comfort yourself!”
