Immigration Accompaniment Training for Norwalk, Stamford, and Bridgeport Court Houses. 2-4 PM East Wing
|
|
This training is about accompanying immigrants in Connecticut courts to monitor the presence of ICE and the implementation of the TRUST Act. It will be conducted by John Lugo, Co-founder and Community Organizing Director of Unidad Latina en Acción (ULA) in New Haven.
• Learn about the new Connecticut TRUST Act and how we must hold law enforcement accountable when they detain people illegally for ICE
• Role play what to do in case ICE comes to your community to detain your neighbors
• Get ready to accompany immigrants during their court hearings
• Learn about our latest efforts to stop ICE from interrupting justice in CT courts
Immigrants are treated better and treated more humanely when they're accompanied. And in an immigration and criminal justice system that often results in unjust outcomes, the accompaniment program is an opportunity to show up and make a real difference in these encounters.

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN NEWS - MEMBERSHIP MEETING
|
|
A historic day in the life of our congregation is upon us! After this Sunday's 11:00 AM service, we will vote to approve spending our Capital Campaign funds to restore and renew our building. For a quorum, we need 15% of the church’s membership to be in attendance.
Please be there. As we all know too well, voting is a critical part of our democratic process – at the country, state, municipal and church levels, all.
