Our ninth graders have been on a journey of spiritual self-discovery. Come and hear where they are as spiritual beings and celebrate their journey within our community.

NAMING COMMITTEE: THREE TOP NAMES FROM SURVEY #2

The Naming Committee reports that the results from Vote #2 clearly show three top names according to vote count: (in alphabetical order):


  • The Unitarian Church in Westport
  • The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Westport
  • UU Westport: A Unitarian Universalist Community.

 

The next vote will be ranked choice voting on two days only, Sunday, November 13 and Monday the 14. It is a member only vote and will result in one name to be presented to the congregation. If anyone does not have access or feel comfortable voting online, please contact Ruth Fontilla, our Congregational Administrator.

Friday, October 28 beginning at 5:00 PM is a Faith Formation Halloween Party, featuring seasonal celebrations from different cultures. Enjoy a soup dinner, followed by a Pagan Samhain ceremony, and ending the evening with a showing of the movie “Coco” about the Day of the Dead. All are welcome. Come in a costume and bring a photo of a loved one who has died (could be a pet).

Saturday, October 29, 4:30 PM: Coming of Age dress rehearsal, candle-lighting, and potluck dinner in the main building.


Also - beginning at 4:30 PM is the OWL retreat in the Meeting House.

Nurserycare available for babies and toddlers at 9:45 AM downstairs in the sanctuary building. Our ushers can help you find your way. 


This Sunday, October 30 only the K-2nd graders will have Faith Formation classes.

All other older children and youth, including OWL youth, should plan to attend the special Coming of Age worship service at 10:00 AM.

  • The K-2nd graders will learn about Halloween courage, facing fears.
  • Coming of Agers will deliver their statements of belief to the congregation during the worship service. This will be a memorable event, including special music and a video montage.
  • The Youth Group meets following the worship service (around 11:15 AM)
