“The Joy and Sorrow of Expectations”

Upcoming service: September 26
“Rumi With A View” – Rev. Dr. John Morehouse and Kim Warman, Intern Minister

This will be our WELCOMING Sunday Service, with EXPO following. Please invite friends to experience our wonderful community with us.
For every Sunday, parents with infants - pre-K are welcome to bring their children into the sanctuary with them, or to sit in the foyer or library, where they can hear the service but have a bit more parenting flexibility. Our ushers can help them get settled. As always, please contact Heather Hamilton for information about pre-K to 7th grade programs; Nate Pawelek for 8th-12th grade programs.

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL SERVICE Pre K-7 10:00 AM
All children are invited to Children's Chapel today. Enter through the main doors to the Sanctuary and you will be greeted by Ms. Rachel and/or Ms. Kareen. Chapel will be led by Ms. Cathy [McElroy] - a professional art teacher - and by some of our children! If you are new or have been away this will be a wonderful way to reflect on our 1st Principle: Every single person is important. Reminder that the first formal classes for pre-K through 7th grades begin Sunday September 26.
YOUTH GROUP MEETS EACH SUNDAY AT 11 AM at the Meeting House, youth group room. This Sunday we will be planning for our Con Camping Trip (Sept. 24-25) at Kettletown State Park in Southbury, CT. Youth groups from several CT Unitarian Universalist congregations will gather for this overnight experience to deepen our statewide connections, learn new games and practice leadership skills, share through worship, and further bond. All HS youth are welcome; please contact Nate. This will be the first of several camping trips that will help us practice for our epic journey to Alaska in April, 2022!

BRING FRIENDS AND ENJOY EXPO 2021!
Please join the Leadership Development Team directly after the September 26 service for Expo/Welcoming Sunday. Get a flavor for all that TUCW’s committees have to offer! Committee members will be available to share information about the amazing work their groups are doing. Come learn more about what you would like to get involved in --

In keeping with Covid protocols, tables will be outside, there won't be food or drink, and we ask all to wear masks. Still, nothing can dampen the energy of our community when we are together. Please come and connect!
SIGN UP TO BE A GREETER! PAY IT FORWARD ....
People in the sanctuary for Sunday Services
Remember what it was like when you first walked in the door to our sanctuary on a Sunday morning and knew no one? Wondered what our congregation was about? Maybe what being a Unitarian Universalist was all about for you? It's likely someone took the time to talk with you, and got your name and contact info ...

So ... can you pay it forward? Please help us on a Sunday, either online or in person, greet newcomers and - at the least - get their contact information for future connections. Click HERE to sign up for any given Sunday - online or in person. Questions? Contact Ruth Fontilla.
WEAR YOUR NAME BADGE!
TUCW name tag w logo and Rob Zuckerman name
Misplace your name badge? We're starting to come together more in person, and it's really helpful for all of us - long-timers and newcomers - to wear a badge so we can know names and faces. We're a big congregation and after 18 months of being apart, reminders for us are even more helpful than ever.

The name badges are back out on the table for you to find on a Sunday morning. And if you need one made up, write your name on the clipboard near the badges, and we'll make sure you have one soon enough. Thank you!
