SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2022

This Saturday please join our own Nina Nagy and the Unitarian minister in White Plains Reverend Meredith Garmon for a half day of meditation, combining Soto Zen and Theraveda teachings. This is a rare opportunity where a Unitarian Minister also trained in Zen Buddhism offers a retreat that brings together another Buddhist faction, Theravada, represented by our Westport congregation’s Nina Nagy. The afternoon will end with a tea ceremony. Donations accepted, thank you. At the Unitarian Church White Plains, 468 Rosedale Ave, White Plains, NY 10605. RSVP: [email protected] or [email protected]

DINNER & MOVIE: HS YOUTH AND COA: 5:00 PM in MEETING HOUSE

The High School Youth Group will meet for dinner and a movie on this Saturday, September 24 at 5:00 PM in the Meeting House. Those youth in the Coming of Age program are invited!

BROWN BAG LUNCHES NOW SATURDAY AND SUNDAY!

Brown Bag Lunch
Have a nice day

In coordination with April Barron of Helping Hands Outreach, we have provided over 26,000 lunches to folks in Bridgeport at the John Street Bridge, the PT Barnum Community, and five half-way houses since April, 2020!

We’ve now expanded our lunch drop-offs at the church to include Sunday mornings 9:30 AM to 9:50 AM. Our Saturday drop off between 12:00 and 4:00 will continue.

We’re doing this for two reasons:

  1. So that folks who have been dropping off lunches on Saturday and coming to Sunday service can make one trip instead of two.
  2. So that folks who have not been participating can have the opportunity to provide lunches on their way to Sunday service.

Please CLICK HERE for lunch instructions. Thank you!

EXPO 22 DIRECTLY AFTER SERVICE THIS SUNDAY

LEARN ABOUT ALL WE DO! FOOD AND FUN! CHILDCARE!

EXPO

EXPO 22: a chance for us to learn more about all that we as a congregation are doing to support each other and causes we care deeply about. This is the time to learn from our various committees, and to sign up and introduce yourselves to friends and fellow congregants!

Directly after the service, outside in the patio. We are grateful to our Committee on Ministries ("The COM") for providing FOOD! And yes! Childcare supervision at the playground will be provided for parents with youngsters - we have a high schooler who is excited to be helpful. Maybe there'll even be some wiffle ball ...!

SEE YOU THERE! Questions? Contact Kathy Roberts.

A REMINDER FROM THE NAMING COMMITTEE:

VOTE #1 STARTS SUNDAY

Vote #1 begins Sunday, September 25 through October 2. Survey Monkey will be used to vote. At the service on Sunday, we will distribute the URL link to access Survey Monkey; the URL will also appear on the UU website and in Soundings for next week.

The first ballot will be preceded by a short survey designed to better focus your consideration of names and to provide helpful data as we move through the process. The ballot has 84 names and you may vote for up to 10 names; only one vote is allowed per name. When you have finished recording your votes be sure to include your name in the space provided; your name will validate your ballot. Questions? Please contact [email protected]
