In this, our annual Water Communion service, Rev. John returns to the pulpit for the first Sunday service of the formal church year. He will explore the possibilities of our life in the midst of our ongoing collective malaise, fatigue, even anxiety. Please bring a small sample of water to share that symbolizes your journey over the last year. We will invite people to come forward and pour water into a common bowl. As our Immigration and Refugee team gears up for the expected arrival of Afghan refugees in Bridgeport beginning in the next two weeks, Ashley Gaudiano, Director of External Affairs for CIRI (CT Institute for Refugees & Immigrants), will speak about how we can help, during our the Share the Plate Offering. We are getting ready to launch a robust set of programs to support our children and youth Faith Formation. Please contact Heather Hamilton for information about pre-K to 7th grade programs; Nate Pawelek for 8th-12th grades.
Parents with infants - pre-K are always welcome to bring their children into the sanctuary with them, or to sit in the foyer or library, where you can still hear the service but have a bit more privacy and parenting flexibility.

This Sunday, September 5 – Please join congregants in the Sanctuary for our Water Communion service at 10:00 AM. Childcare (not formal programming) provided for preK-5th grades; meet Kareen and Rachel at the front door at 9:55 AM.

September 12 we will all remain in the Sanctuary for our Homecoming Service at 10:00 AM. Come and learn about the traditions of UU with Rev. John and Rev. Ed.

Faith Formation will have a wonderful Chapel Service on September 19 at 10:00 AM. The first formal classes for pre-K through 5th grades begins Sunday September 26.

OWL (Our Whole Lives) starts Sunday, September 12 for our 8-9th graders. For more about OWL and why Unitarian Universalists think it is important for our youth, please go to the discussion of OWL At A Glance on our website.
