SUNDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2021: 10:00 AM, Virtual and In Person
“The Wider Self” – Rev Dr. John Morehouse
altruism
Cynics claim that there is no such thing as altruism, that even if no one is watching, when you do something good for another, you get some pleasure from it. Rev. John asks “Why does that even matter? How do we live the better life in the midst of such brokenness? And how many “selves” are there really?"

Click HERE for the Order of Service.

For virtual participation: our ZOOM link is always on our website's homepage and does not change from week to week. You can also click HERE. Meeting ID 207 517 697 PASSWORD: 8893787678 Landline: 1 646 876 9923. Offering can be made on VENMO ("The Unitarian Church in Westport"), on vop.tucw.org, or, as usual, as we pass the plate Sunday morning.
DIRECTLY FOLLOWING THE SERVICE: BULB PLANTING TIME!
This Sunday, following the service, all are welcome to plant bulbs along the stairs where, 20 years ago, daffodils were planted in memory of Keith and Scott Coleman of our congregation, whose lives were lost on 9/11. Shade-loving bulbs will replace the daffodils. Bring a trowel and lend a hand in this project supervised by Carol Hamilton. Carol, a CT Master Gardener, will share some wisdom on being stewards of our earth. Rev. John will bless the bulbs. Gloves suggested.
Upcoming service: October 31, 2021

The Accidentals, alternative/indie folk rockers, balance quiet moments with high energy musical instrumentation, and leave it all on the stage!
