Apple Pie Bake-Off and Autumn Window Display Winners


It was a beautiful day for the return of Rockport Harvest Fest on Saturday, October 19. The event and the warm weather brought thousands of visitors to downtown Rockport to celebrate the fall season. We thank all those who helped make this day a success by sponsoring, participating, or attending.


Congratulations to Amity Buchanan of Gloucester on winning the first Harvest Fest Apple Pie Bake Off! Amity received a $50 Greater Cape Ann Gift Certificate. The runner-up was Laura Richio of Hamilton.


Also, congratulations to Lisa Brown of shell RKPT for getting the most votes in the Autumn Window Display Contest! She also received a $50 gift certificate.

2024 Retail & Lodging Industry Roundtables are This Week

Discover Gloucester and the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce are collaborating to plan this year's Summer Season in Review, happening Tuesday, November 12th from 5:30-7:30 pm at Gloucester Stage Company. 


In order to hear from each of our partners about your summer seasons, we've scheduled a series of five Industry Roundtables happening over the next two weeks. Bring your successes and challenges from this summer season, and brainstorm with industry colleagues to plan for the upcoming fall, winter, spring, and next summer.

Winter Lights 2024 Sign Up is Now Open

Celebrate the holiday spirit with the 5th Annual Winter Lights on Cape Ann!


It’s that time again where we are collaborating with Discover Gloucester on Winter Lights. As it was last year, we are asking businesses across greater Cape Ann to sign up to be listed on the map and if they choose, join the contest. There is no fee to participate and the contest is open to all.


Businesses who would like to participate should complete the following form. Winter Lights Sign Up Form Please sign up by November 25th. 

$25K Game Tickets Available for Purchase


The $25K Game tickets are in the house and ready for sale! There are 12 chances to win with a total of $25,000 being given away. Cost is $100 per ticket, with a limit of 500 tickets being sold. 


The event will feature a Costume Contest again this year and will be live-streamed by Streamography for those unable to attend.

October is Gloucester and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month


(From Gloucester Daily Times) A flag-raising ceremony at the steps of City Hall before about 40 people shined a light on the recent legislative measures to advance the cause of domestic abuse prevention. The half-hour event Monday, observing October as Gloucester and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, featured a shared reading of a proclamation from Mayor Greg Verga. The speakers stood adjacent to purple wooden silhouettes, with one listing all of those who died from domestic abuse in the past year in the Commonwealth. Read Full Article

Class of 2025 applications are being accepted at GMGI's Gloucester Biotechnology Academy


January cohort for the Gloucester Bio Tech Academy is still accepting students. This hands-on program prepares students for careers as lab technicians in the biotechnology and life sciences fields. They teach the cutting-edge technical and career skills required to kickstart a career in biotechnology. Get six months of hands-on training in a state-of-the-art teaching laboratory, followed by a paid, three-month internship in a professional laboratory. Prospective students can apply at any time.

Rockport Rotary Calendar Featured in Cape Ann Magazine


Images reflecting the beauty of Rockport are featured in the Rockport Rotary Club’s 2025 raffle calendar. The annual contest invites amateur and professional photographers to submit their best high-quality images emphasizing qualities that make the town a special place to live, work and visit. The 13 winners, one for each month and the cover, each receive $50.Calendars cost $25 and include a ticket for a raffle that will be drawn weekly throughout 2025. View PDF of Article

Marini Farm Tree Jubilee Open for Donations


Each year, uniquely decorated trees and wreaths are donated by local organizations, families, and businesses to be displayed at Marini Farm. Visitors may buy raffle tickets and then select the ones they want a chance to win! OVER 100 spectacularly decorated trees and wreaths will be raffled off (decorations and all!) at the end of the Jubilee. You never know what our donors will decorate their trees with! Gift certificates, items, lottery tickets, food, beer, wine, and more! Proceeds benefit the Ipswich Humane Group to support the animals at the Ipswich Animal Shelter. Applications now open for heating aid


The Massachusetts Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), formerly known as LIHEAP, is here to help eligible renters and homeowners pay a portion of their winter heating bills. Funded by the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities and provided through local agencies, HEAP supports households across Massachusetts, regardless of the type of heating source or whether heating costs are included in rent.
