Essential Skills for Leaders is approved under the Express Grant, funded by the Massachusetts' Workforce Training Fund and administered by Commonwealth Corporation. The Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP) will reimburse up to 100% of training costs for businesses with under 100 employees. To be eligible for reimbursement, per WTFP guidelines, the Express Grant application must be completed by: Wednesday, August 23, 2023. Begin the Grant Application.

The judge's boat, Cape Ann Whale Watch's Hurricane II, will be located off the Gloucester Coast Guard station and the boats and judges will have 2 times to view each contestant. Gloucester Luminaries & Love - Canned Goods Donations Needed
Monday, August 28 | 6:30 - 8:30 PM
This is a night to remember community members who have lost to overdose / substance use and a chance to gather in support of the loved ones left behind. They are asking for donations of canned goods to help weigh down the 800+ bags, The Open Door will be onsite and collected items will be donated to them at the end of the event. We have several community collection sites but so far donations have been low. Items can be dropped at Cape Ann Lanes and The Cape Ann YMCA until August 27. Items can also be brought the night of. Friends of the Manchester Public Library Seek Artists and Photographers for Submissions
The Friends of the Manchester Library will raise money with an art show and sale with 50% of proceeds donated for the continued maintenance of Library’s resources. The show is scheduled for October 20 to 22nd at the Library. The event will serve as a platform showcasing local artistic talent, and the Friends are now soliciting works. The Friends are calling for artists and photographers who wish to be considered to submit up to five digital images in JPEG format to fallingforart@gmail.com by August 30th. JPEGs should be labelled with full name, title of work, and price. Any questions, please email fallingforart@gmail.com.

Sponsored by the Friends of Essex Elementary, this event is open to anyone who wants to support a community school and all the wonderful enrichment programs the students hope to enjoy throughout the year. The 5K route meanders through the beautiful back roads of Essex. The Kids' Fun Dashes are always a hit, with even the littlest ones smiling from start to finish.
