Member Spotlight: North Shore Adventures
Myself, Clay Kern, my wife, and my 2 adorable daughters own North Shore Adventures and we love being based out of the town of Rockport on Bearskin Neck. We were founded as North Shore Kayak in 1998, but we rebranded and purchased the business in 2021. During the peak summer months, we employ 8 mostly full-time staff to run and shop, lead our tours, and operate our rental business.

Painting Returned to Castle Hill
(From Ipswich Local News) A large, mid-18th-century painting that was originally in the Crane collection at Castle Hill has been reacquired by the Trustees. Disposed of in 1950 as part of an estate sale, the work is now back in the Crane mansion 74 years after it sold at auction. The work of art is a 39 x 59-inch group portrait of an anonymous family, previously attributed to the Anglo-American artist William Williams (1727-1791). In Castle Hill, the portrait was installed in its original location above the high chest of drawers in the main stair hall. Read Full Article

Cape Ann Animal Aid Pet of the Week
Meet Ms. Jovi! A Good Samaritan took her in. She's been nursed back to a healthy state and her foster mom was able to truly get to know this fighter of a feline. She's said to be a very gentle soul, quite shy to start though. Fostered with other cats, she enjoys their company. Given her previous life, we're not too sure if she would want to be around dogs or young children. We believe a quiet life is the ticket for Jovi! Do you have a patient and kind heart that you're willing to open? As part of our extended stay program, Jovi's adoption fee has been waived! Fill out an application and let's get a meeting set up. Visit www.capeannanimalaid.org for more information about him and all the other animals waiting for homes at the shelter.
