Each year, the Greater Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce hosts a fundraising auction to provide for the fundamental tenet of our mission - the prosperity of Essex, Gloucester, Ipswich, Manchester-by-the-Sea and Rockport. This year's auction is scheduled for September 29 at Cruiseport Gloucester, and we would love to add your name to our sponsor list.
As the most historic and still largest Auction in the region, this fundraiser will reach and engage a wide array of businesses and households. As such it provides a unique opportunity for your organization to have fantastic exposure with community leaders, public officials, local businesses, area residents, and visitors who travel to Cape Ann.
When you choose to sponsor, you are actively helping the Greater Cape Ann communities by defraying the costs associated with delivering this stellar auction event, so that proceeds can go towards grant programs, scholarships, and business promotion.

Local Colors - Artists' Cooperative: Featured Artists
From sailboats to schooners, if you love boats then Local Colors has artwork for you. Their August Featured Artists capture the beauty of boats and the sea that make our area so special. All the artists are local. Look for their works in the window, on their Featured Wall, and in their gallery, where you'll also find new pieces by many of their artists.
Melissa Cox - Featured Wall Artist
Melissa has been taking pictures since high school and loves being out on the water taking photos of ships, whales and sunsets. For her, it's all about a feeling, a reaction to the image. The texture of a picture is an important part of her work and she likes to ‘feel’ a picture.

Skip Montello - Featured Alcove Artists
Skip's passion for photography developed during his career at the Polaroid Corporation, where he spent more than 30 years as a photographic scientist, engineer and technology leader. He has a deep love for the area in which he lives and is constantly inspired by the ocean.
| |
Adeline Cabot - Featured Alcove Artist
Adeline's watercolor paintings feature sailboats and the tranquil beauty of the coast. Her pen-and-watercolor illustrations explore a more playful side of nature, capturing animal characters drawn from her backyard, along with the beauty of clouds and the glare of sunlight on water.

Weasel here! I am 8 years young and have a beautiful black and white coat and the greenest eyes you ever did see! I would love a quiet home with someone who is looking for a friend and family member! I don’t have much on my wish list, but I sure do like a cozy bed. If you think I’d make a good addition to your family, stop by and visit me at Christopher Cutler Rich Animal Shelter, 4 Paws Lane in Gloucester.

On Sunday, September 18th, dozens of kids between the ages of 8 and 14 will race cars they built with their families in the Fish Box Derby, a Gloucester tradition that traces its roots to the 1950s. This event was established by a non-profit organization, Fish Box Derby, Inc., whose purpose is to provide the local youth with the opportunity to build and strengthen family relations. This annual event, run by the Gloucester AMVETS and American Legion since 2018, would not be possible without our volunteers and the generous support from our local community businesses.
The Hay Bale Advertising opportunity offers the promotion of your business on hay bales that line the racecourse. If you are interested in helping the youth of the community, please download and fill out the form.
