Get ready for Block Party # 2 in just 10 days. Once again, crowd favorite Cape Ann Dance will be performing. In addition, there will be a "Scottish flair" with both Kilted Colin and Stiles School of Scottish Dance performing. Food trucks include the Abbie D's, Crepe du Jour, Pie Sons Pizza and Nana's Fried Dough. The kids will also enjoy Face Painting by Miss Wendy, Captain Jack, Picasso's Balloonatik, YMCA Kids Town, Cape Ann Vernal Pond, and Corn Bowl from Cape Ann Lanes. It will be a great time for the whole family.

The historic Stage Fort Park along Gloucester Harbor will blossom into color, flavor and music for the 41st Annual Gloucester Waterfront Festival. Over 175 Artists/crafters, food, live music- fun for the entire family! Admission is free, handicap accessible, held rain or shine and friendly pets are welcome on leash. Note: There is a fee to Park at beach parking.

This week’s highlighted cultural organization in Harbortown is the Schooner Adventure! Experience “A Sense of Adventure”: The deck of Schooner Adventure will be open to the public from 4:00-7:00pm, and Adventure crew and volunteers will lead various hands-on demonstrations to help visitors understand the experience of sailing and working on an early 20th century dory fishing schooner. Schooner Adventure will also run a Jon Sarkin Art Giveaway.
This week’s highlighted cultural organization in Rocky Neck is the North Shore Arts Association at 11 Pirates Lane! Join them for an Oil Painting Demonstration with Rosalie Sidoto from 4:00-6:00pm!

Castle Hill on the Crane Estate

Reimagine the Roaring Twenties with this 2-day lawn party set on the Crane Estate. Here you’ll find 1920s jazz, antique autos, a vintage fair, flappers and dandies, and picnickers galore. Explore the formal gardens, march in a suffrage parade, take a dance lesson, and enjoy a drink at the Bootlegger’s Garden featuring Mill River Winery, 1634 Meadery, and True North Ales.

Cape Ann Museum

Offered as part of the city-wide Culture Splash, the Courtyard Concerts feature local and regional musicians. Treehouse Quintet, the new rendition of Lanesville's own Treehouse Charlatans, started with a bluegrass base but has grown to include folk melodies, more didgeridoo doodling, and jazz instrumentals. This five-piece band combines old-time favorites with contemporary hits and original music to get you tapping your feet to all sorts of tunes.

This year’s event features over 55 participating merchants, vendors and non-profits. The Sidewalk Bazaar is the largest Gloucester marketplace event of the year, known for days of bargains, music, food, and discounts, along with new and exciting merchandise by a variety of merchants and vendors alike. Entertainment will be provided all 3 days by a selection of musicians.

Led by the gender-defying voice of 3rian King, the ensemble delivers their own brand smoky cabaret, neo-soul and acoustic noir, sounding something like Tom Waits and Amy Winehouse performing in a French cafe. What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? is known for its original songs which marry rich lyrical imagery with a cinematic sensibility, exploring themes of love, spirituality, sexuality, and identity.

The educational session includes storytelling and an art activity related to one of the five Aesop’s Fables sculptures by world famous sculptor Nancy Schön that have been gifted to the RAA&M Permanent Collection though the financial generosity of Lorraine Horn.

In addition, the historic Emerson Inn is offering a dinner buffet, bar service and live music to accompany while you shop and wait for the Moon to rise over their spectacular ocean front vista!
