Businesswomen's Committee Scholarship Application Deadline Approaches

The Carolyn M. O’Connor Scholarship application deadline is March 31. One scholarship of $1,500 will be awarded in early May to a woman who is returning to the workforce or is considering a career change, in an effort to better their life situation.

For almost 15 years Tiny Planet Computer has been providing Cape Ann residents quality repairs for their Apple and Windows computers as well as fixing iPhone screens. Like many small businesses, they have been greatly impacted by COVID-19. Tiny Planet makes this fundraising request with a heavy heart, as they have always prided themselves on being a self-reliant company. If they reach their goal, it will allow them to remain in business and continue to offer their services to Cape Ann.

These funds are available for Open Space, Historic Resources, Recreational Land and Community Housing. Eligibility forms must be submitted by March 12, with full applications due May 7.

Final Approval Nears for New COVID-19 Relief Bill

According to multiple published reports, Congress is expected to give final approval this week for a $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief bill. The legislation as passed by the US Senate on Saturday would extend a $300 per week federal supplement to unemployment benefits through September 6, and would provide direct payments of $1,400 to individuals earning up to $80,000. The Senate-passed bill also provides direct assistance to state and local governments and funds for COVID-19 vaccine distribution and testing. 
CDC Issues New Guidance for Those Who Have Been Fully Vaccinated
