The net proceeds of this event fund the Chamber’s extensive work with the three Cape Ann schools and Essex Tech and education non-profits. The programming includes: monthly collaboration with all schools and education non-profits, DECA support, intern and mentorships, annual Cape Ann Career & College Fair and several scholarships.

My Local MA Campaign Invites
Business Stories on Surviving the Pandemic

Businesses are being encouraged to submit their personal stories to the My Local MA website about how they have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a new feature to the Massachusets Office of Travel & Tourism and the Chamber encourages our members in the restaurant, retail, dining and experience industries to submit their stories. It has also been announced that the My Local MA campaign is partnering with the Boston Red Sox, and will be adding a special focus on helping restaurants this summer.

The Manchester Historical Museum is now offering a free mobile tour of Manchester-by-the Sea to use on your mobile device or computer. Learn about the history of the town from its colonial farms and fishing times to the furniture making era and on to the Gilded Age.

Rockport Has Been Nominated for TravelAwaits' Best of Travel Awards!

Rockport has been nominated under the Small Town category but is also eligible for the firendliest small town, most Hallmark Movie-esque Small Town, Pet Friendly Small Town, Most Accessible Small Town and Best Place to Retire. Voting continues through Sunday, May 2 and individuals can vote once per day per category.

"Celebrate Older Americans" with the Council on Aging and Rose Baker Senior Center

May is Older Americans Month and once again the Council on Aging and Rose Baker Senior Center will be celebrating older Americans all month with special events and activities. The main event, honoring seniors, will take place on Wednesday, May 26 with a "Celebrate Older Americans" drive through gift bag distribution in the parking lot of the Senior Center. Working on Cape Ann, Ganim-DeFalco and Heffron have drawn their own lines in the sand through keen observation and commitment. The exhibition presents interpretations of the seaside through Heffron’s paintings and Ganim-DeFalco’s Wearable Art. The exhibition will be on display at the Jane Deering Gallery for the month of April.

The Scrawner Morgan Foundation is going to be accepting blood donations to support cancer research through Dana-Farber/Brigham & Woman's Hospital, which is a vitally important pillar in the fight for a cure and treatment. EIDL Maximum Loan Amounts Increased

The SBA announced last week that businesses may now apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) covering up to 24 months of working capital, up to a total of $500,000. Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) Portal Opening Delayed 

Due to technical difficulties with the application portal, the launch of the SVOG program has been delayed. Prospective applicants are reminded that in order to be eligible to receive funding through the SVOG program, they must begin their registration process for doing business with the federal government at www.sam.gov. Massachusetts Vaccination
Program Expands

All Massachusetts residents age 55 and over or with one certain medical condition are now eligible to receive vaccinations, and by April 19 all residents 16 and over will be eligible.
