On August 3, Project Adventure welcomed Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker when their partners at For Kids Only (FKO) Afterschool hosted a tour to share the great work coming out of this year's collaboration. The Governor met with students, talked with educators, and took a walk on the Wildside - a portable version of a low adventure course element - with Project Adventure facilitators and participants.

Ezekiel's Wheels

Boston’s Ezekiel’s Wheels Klezmer Band has been captivating audiences around the world with their passionate virtuosity and contagious energy. Klezmer music has the familiarity of chamber music and the force of rowdy dance band music. Ezekiel’s Wheels’ contemporary spin on Jewish music enthralls audiences from elementary school students to the judges at the International Jewish Music Festival, who described them as ‘a true musical democracy’.

After a spectacular inaugural festival in 2019, Brian O’Donovan and Maeve Gilchrist return for their 2nd Annual Rockport Celtic Festival, created in partnership with Rockport Music. The 2021 Festival will trace the connections between Celtic music and other musical cultures, as well as bring back the sea shanties, work songs, and nautical music and lore. The festival will take place over the course of three days with shows at varying times at the Shalin Lu Performance Center.

Manship is thrilled to welcome singer, actress, and storyteller April Armstrong as she pays tribute to one of the greatest musical artists ever – Billie Holiday. Armstrong has previously performed as Lady Day with her accompanying pianist Matt Jenson. And for this special performance at Manship, they will be joined by bassist Jesse Crawford, a veteran of the stage at Carnegie Hall.

Art, ocean, and light combine during the Cape Ann Museum’s Sunset Sails on the Schooner “ Thomas E. Lannon.” The program includes a two-hour sail, light refreshments, a chance to watercolor paint, and sea-worthy content about the cultural history of Cape Ann. 

Always giving special concerts in her hometown of Rockport, Paula will perform songs from her latest album American Quilt, showcasing her ability to meld a variety of genres including jazz, folk and country.
