Like today’s servicemen and women they stepped up on our behalf to defend and preserve our United States of America. On this Veterans Day may we all come together and thank America’s veterans for their service and sacrifice.
Auction Countdown Begins - Six More Days Until We Go Live

With less than a week to go our largest fundraiser, the Love Cape Ann Fundraising Auction kicks off on Monday, November 16. Keep your eye out for our email informing you how to register. You won’t want to miss it! Your fellow neighbors have come out to support and donate fantastic items to this year’s efforts. We have great overnight stays, home renovation packages, family fun items, schooner sails and so much more. You can pick something out for the whole family this holiday season. Awesome Gloucester Partners with Persistent Productions to Honor Those Who Have Made a Living Working “On Fish”

In June, Awesome Gloucester commissioned Studio Fresh to create original public art to honor the legions of people in Gloucester who have made a living working “on fish” in “on land” jobs. The mural includes images of women processing fish, a lumper, and a fish cutter. The film will debut on November 12 at 6 PM on their Facebook page.

Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospital Announce Guidelines for Grant Program that Benefits Non-Profits

This year, Addison Gilbert Hospital and Beverly Hospital are seeking proposals that focus on addressing social determinants of health including access to technology. Through this grant process, up to $100,000 will be awarded to non-profit organizations. The Deadline to be considered is December 4, 2020

Updated Mask and Public Gatherings Orders Now in Effect. The new guidelines and protocols took effect on November 6. The full list of sector-specific protocols is available on the Reopening Massachusetts website. Updated sports guidance has also been posted and took effect on November 7. 

State’s Daily Dashboard Revised. The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) is now posting a revised COVID-19 daily dashboard. A key new data point presented in the dashboard is “Case Growth by Age Group,” which will help show the impact of COVID on different age ranges over time. The Commonwealth is currently seeing a larger proportion of cases in younger people compared to earlier in the pandemic.  To view the most recent daily dashboard please click here: Dashboard for November 9.

Governor Grants Insurance Waivers for Closed Restaurants. The Baker Administration recently issued an executive order waiving the requirements for liquor liability and workmen’s compensation insurance for restaurants needing to renew their liquor licenses while closed due to COVID-19. View the executive order here for more details.  

Small Business Grant Deadline Nears.  The plan announced recently includes $50.8 million in direct grants to help small businesses that have been most severely impacted by the pandemic. The deadline for applying for these grants is Thursday, November 12 at Noon. For more information about Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation’s COVID-19 Grants for Massachusetts Small Business and to apply please click here.
