The Small Business Persons of the Year Celebratory Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, June 17 at Castle Manor Inn from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

The Greater Cape Ann Chamber is holding a virtual informational session for all Gloucester businesses about the City of Gloucester's Retail Signage Improvement Grant & Pop Up Program.

The Retail Signage Grant Program is intended to assist commercial property owners or tenants in eligible buildings improve their storefront signage, awning, and/or sign related lighting. The purpose of the program is to improve the visual quality of the city’s retail business districts and to enhance the districts as a place to visit, shop and work. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply no later than Friday, June 17, 2022.

The Gloucester Rotary has named Tony Corrao as a Paul Harris Fellow, the prestigious award named after the Chicago lawyer who founded Rotary in 1905. Corrao was selected by a committee of previous recipients of the award, and will be honored at a special dinner on Monday, June 27, 2022, at Cruiseport Gloucester, located at 6 Rowe Square in downtown Gloucester. The social hour will begin at 5:30pm, followed by dinner at 6:30pm.

Greenbelt – Essex County’s Land Trust’s 33rd annual Art in the Barn event returns in-person. One of the North Shore’s premier, juried art shows, Art in the Barn showcases the work of more than 130 local artists. Throughout the Cox Reservation, the barns are filled with paintings, ceramics, jewelry, sculptures and more. A silent auction will feature select pieces by Daphne Borden and Donald MacLachlan. Friday evening will feature music, Butter UR Biscuit food truck, and True North Ales. This festive evening is open to the public! Admission and parking are free.

New this season, kids sail for free! (under age 18 when accompanied by a paying adult) Under the leadership of new Executive Director Stuart Siegel, the Schooner Adventure begins sailing in service to the community earlier this season than in previous years. Public Sails commence Memorial Day weekend with two sails daily on most weekends this summer through the third week in September.

With extraordinary artistry and virtuosity, the Festival Chamber Orchestra brings together an exceptional group of chamber soloists and artists from the string quartet world with members of the Rolston, Verona, Orford, Ulysses and Miró quartets. Cape Ann Makers Market (CAMM) excited to announce the first of its monthly summer Moonrise Markets, in partnership with the Emerson Inn, beginning Tuesday June 14th, at 1 Cathedral Avenue, Rockport from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Nicholas Sullivan is a Senior Reseacrh Fellow at the Maritime Studies Program and a Senior Fellow at the Council on Emerging Market Enterprises, both in the Fletcher School at Tufts University. The Blue Revolution is his fourth book.

The PMC Kids Rides program was born in 2005 and the Cape Ann, MA chapter was established in 2013 thanks to Alexis and her family. Since its inception our chapter has raised over $40,000 dollars of unrestricted funds. The Kids Rides program is for children ages 2–15 years old and our chapter has produced many adult PMC riders as they have come of age. We are always looking for volunteers & sponsors to help us facilitate this program. Ready to get involved? We hope to see you at our next event!

Bring Dad to Appleton Farms on Father’s Day weekend for some local beer, local BBQ and great, live bluegrass music. We’ll have craft breweries on site, including Essex County Brewing Company, True North Ale Company and Old Planters Brewing Company, serving the cold suds while Fat Belly BBQ and Butter Ur Biscuit provide food from their trucks. Our own wood-fired pizza will also be available at the Farmhouse. Live music will be provided by Old Cold Tater at 12:00 and Elisa Smith at 3:00, on both days. We’ll also have lawn games to play while you enjoy the music.

Join us at our Gloucester workshop to celebrate the creation of our new pipe organ, Opus 164. Tour the shop, enjoy the music and learn about the art and craft of organ building. The organ is for Christ Church Christiana Hundred in Wilmington, Delaware.
