Book Fair
Thank you to our incredible team of Book Fair volunteers! We are so grateful to Andover Bookstore, Principal Lee, Mrs. T-K, Ms. Comeau, Ms. Hajj, and Ms. Kennedy for their support. This event wouldn’t have happened without the time and dedication of our leadership team - Kate Geary, Laura Veligor, Charlene Clark, and Christina Berthelsen - or the army of parent volunteers who worked shifts throughout the fair. Not only did the volunteers help give our students access to great books, they also raised funds for new books for the school library.

Want to get involved? The PTO is looking for 2-3 people to run the book fair next year. If you enjoyed volunteering and might be interested in a larger role or if you have any questions about what is involved in the planning and execution of the fair, please email Kate at kathrynrgeary@gmail.com

South School Diaper Drive for Neighbors in Need

Did you know that nearly one in three families in the United States struggles to provide diapers for their families, and that diapers are not eligible for purchase using SNAP or other benefits? We are fortunate to have Neighbors in Need, an incredible local organization working to fill the need (in addition to its 13 food pantries!)

As part of South’s Kindness Initiative, we are working with Neighbors in Need to collect diapers, wipes, formula, and other items to help our community. The collection box pictured below is located in the main entrance at South, and orders can be purchased directly from the organization’s Amazon wish list which can be found HERE

Thanks to Becca Rogers for spearheading this project!

Pie Sale Update

Thank you so much to the South families who purchased pies through the PTO’s sale. With your generosity, we will be able to provide a pie for every teacher and staff member who requested one!

Pies will be available for pick up at South on Tuesday, November 23.

A HUGE thank you on behalf of South School to Noriko Yamaoka for serving as this year’s pie sale coordinator!

Looking to Get Involved?

We are looking for a team of volunteers to help coordinate South’s first-ever Winter Wonderland Family Event.

Email Christina at southptopresident@gmail.com for more information or to get involved!

Kindness Initiative

The PTO is supporting a month long, school wide initiative to help our students spread kindness everywhere our students spread kindness wherever they go. Show off YOUR Kindness Superpower!

Fill in the attached kindness bingo board by completing the suggested acts of kindness, at home or at school. When you complete the task in a bingo square, put a heart around it. There is no due date, but remember, the sooner you are kind, the sooner others benefit and want to spread their own acts of kindness, too! Everyone wins!
