Summer Madness!
Visitors are "Into"  Southeast SD

That is no beached whale, it is your Executive Director looking out across Lewis & Clark Lake at the many visitors flowing into our region this summer. No doubt you've seen the campers, kayaks and collection of license plates from around the country as you have been out and about. Let's give them our best customer service and make repeat visitors of them all!

Membership Renewal is Now

You're busy. We know it. But that's good because it means that together, our promotions are continuing to work hard for your business and this region.
Continuing your membership in SSDTA is a key, cost-effective way to get your message to the masses and capture your share of these visitor dollars. South Dakota Tourism reports that visitation to, and through our region is expected to be robust this season.

With their help, we are focusing in on a more data-driven strategy for your dollars and our efforts for you. If you are a current member, please renew.

If you know others who could benefit from membership, please have them email Gary Keller,, call 605-665-2435 or visit our website or Facebook page (click on links in the next article). Help keep Southeast strong!

Current Efforts

We just placed a full page ad in AAA Home and engaged in a partnership to place our Simply South Dakota Regional Guide and/or Sportsman's Guide in a storefront in Western Mall in Omaha, Nebraska, a key market for the Southeast region.

In addition, if you haven't been to our Facebook page or website recently, you don't know about our whirlwind, executive-style FANtasy Weekend Contest giveaway. Check it out, "Like" and "Share" to your friends around the country and stay tuned to hear who the lucky winner is July 2. You never know, we may just double down and name a second winner, since the response has been so incredible over the past month!

Submit your Events

We need your events for our online calendar. Submit EventsEvents must be a member of SSDTA for inclusion in our events calendars.
We promote regional events through our publications and website but also through our Visitor ENewsletter that goes to 7,000+ emails monthly. Upcoming events are featured each month along with link to our full calendar and website. We also feature vacation packages and special deals, so be sure to tell us about those.

We're on the Up & Up...and Up and Up!

Here are some May stats we are pretty happy about: Facebook likes vs. May 2017, +66%! Instagram followers vs. May 2017, +5%. Since last month (April 2018) Visitor requests +131%, Online Publication reads +119%, website sessions +94%.
Top four states for web traffic and visitor requests: South Dakota, Nebraska, Illinois and Minnesota in that order. Traffic by device: Mobile 52.6%;
Desktop 29%; Tablet 8.4%.
We interpret that folks like to go to our sites for information and then order their free travel packet. Those packets are shipped nationally and we've been making a lot of trips to the Post Office lately!
