Students: share what it means for dreams to come true as part  of the Fair Housing essay and poster contests
Don't miss the upcoming April 13 deadline for any kids you know to submit their essays and posters in the 2018 Fair Housing essay and poster contest. All they need to do is share what it means to make dreams come true (see details below)!

April is National Fair Housing Month and 2018 is the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act. Sponsored by the Diversity Committee of the Saint Paul Area Association of  REALTORS® (SPAAR), this is an opportunity to learn about, remember and talk about the protections provided by  the Fair Housing Act (FHA).  Students are invited to share the impact of the Fair Housing Act.  How has the FHA impacted  you your family or your community?

Students in grades 6 to 12 are encouraged to take part in the Fair Housing essay contest  and younger students in grades K through 5 are encouraged to share their talents by taking part in the Fair Housing poster contest: making dreams come true.

Raise a glass at Cheers for Charity and support SPAAR's Charitable Foundation

It's almost time to raise your glass in an effort to support the children and grandchildren of SPAAR members, as event proceeds will benefit the association's scholarship program. In 2017, three teenagers, the children or grandchildren of SPAAR members, were awarded scholarships toward their 2- or 4-year college programs. And in 2018, scholarships will be awarded again with up to five recipients receiving $2,000 scholarships each!

How can you help? Attend a fun evening out at BlackStack Brewing on Tuesday, April 24. There will be local brews, appetizers and opportunities to network with peers and colleagues. And best of all, ticket proceeds directly support the Charitable Foundation's scholarship program! Unable to attend? Your purchase of a ticket will help fund scholarships given to the kids and grandkids of SPAAR members.

NAR introduces new logo

After 45 years, even an iconic brand needs an evolution to better represent the multi-faceted members and REALTOR® organization, according to the National Association of REALTORS®.

The new logo is referred to as a "new dimension", which reflects an organization that has become more dynamic, fast-moving, member-centric and future focused.

New monthly feature:
share your tips for helping buyers find their just-right home

Have an idea? Please share.

In today's tight-housing market where it's commonplace for multiple offers on a house,
what is your best advice for potential buyers to successfully find their perfect abode?

Each month, a new question will be asked in eNews in hopes to share the responses of SPAAR members with SPAAR members. Please email your ideas and answers to Jennifer Kovacich at jkovacich@spaar.com. If you have a question for which you'd like an answer, feel free to propose it as a question of the month. ( Thanks to members who have shared ideas!)
RealSatisfied: a new benefit for SPAAR members
How is RealSatisfied working for you?

SPAAR now provides RealSatisfied as a free, member-only benefit. Rolled out to all members in February, this tool is designed to help REALTORS® be more competitive in the real estate marketplace.

Brokerages and managers are not required to take any action to implement RealSatisfied, as the tool has been purchased by SPAAR for individual SPAAR members; however, if an office wants broker access the broker dashboard may be purchased for $600 per office annually.

RealSatisfied has information to get started and tutorials to learn how the tool works.
Severe Weather Awareness Week is April 9-13

Severe Weather Awareness Week from April 9-13 is dedicated to educating people about the seasonal threats of severe weather and how to be prepared.

This is a good time to discuss and prepare for severe weather both at home or in the workplace, and where you consider a safe place to be in the event of bad weather.

The National Weather Service has great tips for severe weather, including those that impact Minnesota most in the spring and summer: lightning and hail, flooding, tornadoes and heat.
