Hello!


Looking for a new career with strong hiring demand? Portland Community College's Quick Start to Manufacturing Technician Training can prepare you for entry-level manufacturing careers in just two weeks. This training is completely free for eligible participants.


We are currently recruiting for our August 17 class at the PCC Opportunity Center on NE 42nd Avenue, and we accept applications year-round. New classes are offered monthly at the Willow Creek Opportunity Center in Hillsboro and the PCC Opportunity Center on NE 42nd Avenue in Portland.

Why Quick Start?

In just two weeks, you'll gain foundational manufacturing skills, explore career opportunities with local employers, and receive personalized support to help you launch your job search. Graduates also have opportunities to connect with employers who are hiring for manufacturing roles.



During the program, you'll learn:

  • Advanced manufacturing fundamentals
  • Quality standards, inspection, and documentation practices
  • Precision measurement and manufacturing tools
  • Production processes and equipment fundamentals

Training combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and career preparation to help you build the skills needed for entry-level manufacturing technician positions.


You'll also receive:

  • One-on-one career coaching
  • Resume development and interview preparation
  • Connections to local employers who are hiring
  • Information about additional PCC manufacturing certificates and career pathways

Space is currently available in our August 17 class at the PCC Opportunity Center on

NE 42nd Avenue and September 14 class at PCC Willow Creek Opportunity Center in Beaverton. If that timing doesn't work for you, applications are accepted throughout the year, and new classes begin every month.
