With Suicide Prevention Month behind us, October offers continued opportunities for learning, remembering, and supporting one another. Looking ahead to November, we want to share a special invitation with anyone who has lost someone to suicide: you don't have to navigate grief alone.

Join us in Battle Creek on November 21 for Sip of Hope on International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day (ISOSLD), a time to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of suicide loss and find support in shared experiences. If you know someone who might benefit, please pass this invitation along.

Book Spotlight: The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief

In The Wild Edge of Sorrow, psychotherapist Francis Weller explores grief as a deeply human experience that connects us not only to those we've lost, but also to our families, communities, ancestors, and the natural world.

He reminds us that we carry the sorrow of our own losses alongside the stories, struggles, and strengths of generations before us. When we make space for grief and share it with others, it can deepen our connections, renew our sense of belonging, and help us discover what matters most.

The people who came before us leave more than memories—they leave a legacy we carry forward.

Whether we are grieving a loved one, including someone lost to suicide, or reflecting on the experiences that have shaped our families and communities, Weller invites us to see grief not simply as something to endure, but as part of the human experience we share. We can honor those who came before us by carrying their stories forward—and by considering what we hope to leave for those who come after us.

A question to reflect on:

What strength, wisdom, or lesson have you inherited from someone who came before you, and how might you pass it on?
