For Women, For Life
St. Paul students welcomed Christina Bennett, Client Services Manager at ABC Women's Center in Middletown and friend of St. Paul sophomore Chloe Ferraro, for an after-school meeting to hear her story and learn about her work. Christina shared her own journey, learning about the special circumstances of her birth and her call to promote the dignity of every human life. Christina features in a video about human life entitled "Hear from Heaven".  Students asked questions about how to support the work of ABC Women's Center and look forward to developing a fruitful relationship in the future.

April is dedicated to pray for those suffering after abortion or the loss of a child. A Mass of Remembrance for all who have lost children (of any age and to any cause) is an annual event of the Pro-Life Ministry of the Archdiocese and will take place this evening.
Please pray as some members of the St. Paul community will participate in the March for Babies this coming Sunday 4/30.

Mary Poppins Was Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday shows sold out!
The St. Paul Performing Arts cast, crew, director and musicians were amazing!

See what some audience members had to say...

"Went to see Mary Poppins with some friends and have to say it was one of the best
shows I have ever seen. Like going to a Broadway show. Thanks to all the people behind the scenes (wardrobe, sets, orchestra, etc.) for your hard work. A special thanks to the actors. You were all truly phenomenal and blessed with a beautiful talent.
Can't wait for the next show." - Kathleen Fabiano

"I took my mother to the Sunday show (our first time to a St. Paul's performance) and we were both just blown away. It was simply an amazing show with stellar performances by the entire cast, crew, and orchestra. Mom and I are now officially hooked and can't wait for your next show!" - Cynthia Jendrejcak

Alumni News
Upon graduation, Kiersten Healy '06 went to the Merchant Marine Academy. There was an indoctrination period of three weeks similar to boot camp, all while learning the basics of being at the Academy. During her period at the Merchant Marine Academy, also known as Kings Point, she sailed on cargo ships throughout the world.  A total of 360 sailing days was needed to sit for her US Coast Guard license as a third mate on any gross tonnage ship in the world. On her voyage she visited ports in Tampa, FL, New Orleans, LA, Oakland, CA, San Francisco, CA, Seattle, WA, Honolulu, HI, Guam, Hong Kong, Yantian, Shanghai,China and Koahsiung,Taiwan.

Upon graduation as an Ensign in the Navy, she took a job at the Staten island ferry where she started out as a deckhand. She moved up through the ranks to mate, assistant captain and to captain.

She is the first female Staten Island Ferry captain in history!

She always wanted to become a harbor pilot - a captain that boards inbound cargo ships, oil tankers, cruise ships, drives them into New York Harbor and docks them alongside their birth. She will complete a 5-year apprenticeship where she will ride over a 1,000 ships. During that time she complete 20 pieces of pilotage where she has to draw the chart of the water with buoys, tides, and depth of water in the bay.

We are so proud of you Kiersten and wish you all the best!!! Come visit us sometime soon; we'd love to hear more about your journey.

Keep a look out on our website for the next
segment about Kiersten!
