SPEC MIX Helps Raise $50,000 for Children's Charity

SPEC MIX Regional Manager Trey Harris organized the "Bricks, Blocks & Bags for Bikes" live charity auction at the North Texas SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 regional event in Ft. Worth, TX. The area's mason contractors showed up in full force at Builders Equipment & Supply to bid on equipment and products donated by national and local suppliers. When the bidding ended, Harris and Marc Istook with WFAA-ABC News amazed the crowd by reporting $50,000 was raised, with 100% of the proceeds going to the WFAA Santa's Helpers Foundation to buy bikes for under privileged children in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

The event was a huge success for the community as well as the Texas' masonry industry. Harris himself was surprised by the outcome, "I'm very pleased about the way so many of our contractors and suppliers rallied to support such a great cause that will make this Christmas special for so many children...it's truly amazing!"

SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 competition sweeping the nation, the 2019 Regional Series has proven to be exciting!

The JR. SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 is Taking North America by Storm!

T he SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500® is no longer all about seasoned masons. Now that the JR. SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 competitions are taking place across North America, high school and apprentice students can get in on the action and test their skills against their peers.

This year we expect nearly 1,000 masonry students in training programs will participate in a JR. BRICKLAYER and Masonry Education Day event as part of the SPEC MIX workforce development initiative. Busloads of kids receive hands-on training from instructors, sponsors and industry associates.

The goal is simple...to excite the next generation of masons and skilled craftsmen by giving them an opportunity to take center stage during the biggest movement in masonry.
