Beloved of Christ,
Boulder is the place of my birth and the city where I have spent much of my life. My heart is breaking over the senseless and horrific incident that occurred today—within a block of where we used to gather as a congregation for so many years.
I am grieving over the loss of ten lives, including a Boulder police officer. It will take a lot of time to process what happened in a store so many of us frequented over the years.
Please reach out to me if you need support during these dark days. The Westview sanctuary will be open for prayer tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23rd, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm and on Wednesday, March 24th, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. I will be at the church if you want to chat with me.
I leave you with The Compline Prayer:
“Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work or watch or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, comfort the afflicted, shield the joyous, and all for your love’s sake. May Blessing, + Light, and Glory surround us; and scatter the darkness of this long and lonely night. Amen.”
Peace and all goodness,
Pastor Nicole
