COVID-19 Update

Masks vs. Shields
Clarification

Recently a member questioned if Face Shields were allowed in place of Face Masks. After consulting with the Ohio Department of Health, we have learned that NO you may not substitute a shield for a mast. Here’s ODH’s response:  Under Ohio's current COVID-19 sector guidance, face shields are not an approved alternative to a cloth/fabric face covering over the nose, mouth and chin except in limited circumstances in K-12 school and higher education situations (i.e., wearing a face covering would hinder the learning process or impede the delivery of academic content).

Therefore we encourage you to adjust your policies if you were allowing employees to utilize shields in place of masks.
