LCC deploying
K-9, HMC teams
to BE THERE after
mass shooting, fire

4 killed, 8 wounded
in Michigan attack

Grand Blanc Police Chief William Renye (GBPD)

 "The LORD is a refuge for the needy;

a stronghold in times of trouble."

(Psalm 9:9 NIV 1984)

At the invitation of Pastor Robert Scott of Faith Lutheran Church in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Lutheran Church Charities is deploying K-9 Comfort Dog teams and bringing Hearts of Mercy & Compassion this week to offer care, compassion, and the presence of Christ to the hurting community after four people were killed and eight injured in a mass shooting and fire on Sunday.

Six LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs from Indiana and Ohio were present last night and will serve the community in the comfort of Jesus through Friday. LCC staff members are bringing Hearts of Mercy & Compassion in honor of the victims, for their families, and for first responders who provided service. LCC also will have volunteers trained in Spiritual First AidCare Teams to offer support to the community and to help those who have been deeply affected by this tragic incident.

Your support can help
our teams of compassion BE THERE!

LCC President/CEO Rev. Chris Singer is calling on LCC supporters to pray for the families and individuals affected during this time of sorrow and grief.

LCC places hearts and crosses at memorials and vigil sites with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog ministry teams as a reminder to hurting communities that people across the nation love and support them. LCC seeks to provide those impacted by tragedy with opportunities to process their grief and receive messages of love and hope, ultimately finding holy solace only in Jesus Christ.

Thanks to you, Lutheran Church Charities will continue to BE THERE to provide the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ to those who are suffering and in need.

At LCC, we never go where we are not invited.

We never charge those we serve.

LCC supporters like you
make our ministry work possible.

LCC is able to offer this early response spiritual care because of generous and faithful donors and volunteers who are willing to give and serve.

Our hearts are broken at the senseless loss of life in Grand Blanc, Michigan, this week, “ said LCC President/CEO Rev. Chris Singer. “Lutheran Church Charities seeks to be present with those who are mourning and are devastated by this terrible tragedy. We have staff and volunteers on-site to listen, encourage, and pray with those who need a shoulder to lean on. Our prayer is that God will bring comfort through His holy presence today, this week, and over the weeks to come.”

“If you are able to lend financial support, it will go directly to helping LCC in the ministry work of the K-9 Comfort Dog, HMC, and Human Care teams serving in Michigan,” Rev. Singer added.

If you are compelled to give, please donate to the HELP LCC BE THERE – CRISIS RESPONSE FOR GRAND BLANC Fund. Thank you for sharing in the Mercy and Compassion Ministry of Lutheran Church Charities.

Please keep the Grand Blanc community in your prayers. May the LORD open doors for LCC teams to deliver the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus.
