At yesterday's FCC Commissioner's meeting a lot happened but little which directly affects LPTV.  However, going forward, the clarification of how the FCC calculates interference for the primary stations, and the rules for unlicensed uses will definitely have a HUGE impact on LPTV.  You can read all about them on the FCC home page.

But the real action happened after the meeting at the Chairman's press conference where he announced that the investment bank presentation for auction eligible stations was being express mailed out to the stations this week.

While we are sure there will be a lot of digital ink used to explain all of this we highly recommend this first article from B&C which came out overnight:

COALITION FILES FOIA TO OBTAIN LIST OF
AUCTION ELIGIBLE CLASS-A STATIONS
Despite repeated friendly requests for information about which Class-A stations are auction eligible the Coalition filed yesterday with the FCC a Freedom of Information Request (FOIA) to obtain the actual list of auction eligible eligible stations the FCC is sending out these express mail packages to.  While there is still in 2015 a final qualification cut off date, we really need to see which Class-A stations are eligible.  We literally have members who are very sick and want to know if their families will be able to benefit from the auction or sell out today, and they need to know if they are eligible.  This begins a new phase of Coalition legal activities which is intended to do exactly what our name implies, deal with LPTV spectrum usage rights.
ECFS SYSTEM IN A TOTAL MESS AND OFF LINE
Many members are reporting the shut down of the ECFS systems and key filings into many Proceedings were not available yesterday.  Go figure, the Chairman is telling everyone what a great deal the auction will be and they can not keep the filing system up and running.
AUCTION IS BUILT ON THE BACKS AND CAPITAL OF THE LPTV LICENSEES
There would not be an auction if it was not because Congress and the FCC are forcing LPTV licensees to move ad vacte their spectrum and not be either compensated for it or paid for their displacement moves.  WOULD BE NICE TO GET SOME RESPECT FROM THE FCC COMMISSIONERS ABOUT THIS!!!!

WITHOUT US YOU GOT NO SPECTRUM FOR THE AUCTION.  THERE ARE OVER 2500 LPTV AND TV TRANSLATOR BUILT STATIONS BETWEEN 51-38, SOME 16,000 FRAKING MHZ OF SPECTRUM WHICH WE ARE BEING MOVED FROM.  AND NOT ONE THANK-YOU IN YESTERDAY'S MEETING!!!!! NO MORE MR. NICE GUY FROM ME.
CONGRESSIONAL UPDATE
We have been waiting to tell you all that the House Subcommittee is considering a major new LPTV initiative, and was suppose to be releasing a letter about pour request of a GAO study on the impact of LPTV.  Well this process has slowed down and we now want to publicly tell them to get it done now!  LPTV IS TIRED OF WAITING AROUND FOR YOU ALL TO DO THE RIGHT THING!
