For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
-Ephesians 2:8

Feel Christ’s Passion in Holy Week
Don’t miss these opportunities to experience a deeper connection with Jesus, and to better know the amazing gift of grace that he offers us. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday worship help make the Easter Resurrection Celebration all the more joyful and powerful.
Maundy Thursday, April 18

Noon – Beautiful Cello music by Youth and Family Minister Ben Cherland, Organ music from Karen Daniels, and Solos by Director of Music Rob Reid bring the events of The Last Supper into focus. Pastor Ed Treat will preach and lead us in Holy Communion.

7:00pm – The Chancel Choir and TLC Handbells join Organist Carmen Englert in lifting up the poignant moments of Christ’s last night on earth. Pastor Ed Treat will preach, and Pastor Arthur Murray will lead us in Holy Communion. TLC 5 th Graders, with their families, will experience their First Communion Blessing.
Good Friday, April 19

10:00am – Worship with children of the ELC and TLC, feel the joy of their singing, and watch a special video they created to express their understanding of who Jesus is in their life. Deacon Renee Jefferson leads this fun morning, and Pastor Arthur Murray will share a Children’s Message.

7:00pm – The TLC Low Brass Choir (comprised of Tuba, Trombones, French Horn, Baritone Horns and Euphonium, led by Organist Karen Daniels), and the Chancel Choir, all join together to powerfully set the tone for this Tenebrae Service, or Service of Darkness. The Passion Story is told and felt through the Word and Song, and we listen to scripture and sing hymns about Jesus’ last hours on earth. “Were You There When They Crucified our Lord?”
Easter Sunday Resurrection Celebrations

8:15, 9:30, and 11:00am are the Easter Sunday service times, and the music will be the same at all three services. Do consider attending the 8:15 or 11:00am for better seating opportunities, and do plan to come early to hear the 12-minute Prelude from our TLC Handbells, TLC Brass Choir, Organists Karen Daniels and Carmen Englert playing a piano/organ duet, and the Chancel Choir. Pastor Arthur Murray will preach, Pastor Ed Treat will lead us in Holy Communion. The services will conclude with the playing and singing of the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah, and anyone in the congregation is welcome to join the choir up on the risers and sing!

At the 9:30 and 11:00am services there will be a Children’s Message, and we will hear from our Children’s Choir at the 11:00am service as well.
