"Country Quilters" is celebrating their 10th Anniversary. We are hosting a Quilt Show on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Vanscoy Circle Hall from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. There will be a "silver collection" at the door. Coffee, tea, juice and dainties will be served. There will be a raffle as well as "free" demonstrations and door prizes. We welcome everyone to come and see what our members have been doing.
The group had their first meeting in November, 2008..... just to get an idea if there was interest in the community. Well, there was interest with 11 ladies attending that first meeting. The first year we had 17 members, coming from Vanscoy, Delisle, Pike Lake and Grandora.
In June, 2018 we completed our 10th year with 19 members, including 5 of our founding members. Some members were quilters before joining, while others were new comers to quilting.
We welcome new members and are happy to guide the new quilters along. There is no end to learning new techniques. We meet twice a month with the members generally working on their own projects; however, we do group projects as well. We have made quilts and pillowcases for charity, including Ronald McDonald House, Quilt of Valour and recently "Humboldt Strong". Country Quilters also made a "Be Attitudes" quilt that is displayed at our local schools on a rotational basis.
We are an eager group of gals who love to quilt as we make lasting friendships along the way!!
"Quilting is the thread that binds our gifts of joy"!
Celebrate with us on October 13th and feel free to attend one of our regular meetings.
