Ken Schrader appears poised to join Tony Stewart as a rookie competitor in the Pay Less Little 500 sprint car race May 27 at Anderson Speedway.
Anderson Speedway President told those gathered for a Little 500 press conference Wednesday morning that Schrader will drive the No. 99 sprint car fielded by Brad and Tara Armstrong.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. may be the fourth high-profile NASCAR driver to retire within the past three seasons, but he still believes the sport's future is bright.
Earnhardt announced this will be his last season racing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series on Tuesday. During his afternoon press conference at Hendrick Motorsports, he beat the drum of several of NASCAR's younger drivers.

Cole Pearn, crew chief for the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series was penalized for a lug-nut violation after one of the 20 lug nuts was found to be improperly installed during the post-race check Monday at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.

Tony Stewart is scheduled to compete in a pair of upcoming co-sanctioned Bumper to Bumper Interstate Racing Ass'n and the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions events in Wisconsin May 20-21.
Stewart, who owns the All Star Circuit of Champions, will bring his No. 14 Rush Truck Centers sprint car with plans to compete in the events at Wilmot Raceway and Angell Park Speedway.

Code 3 Associates is expanding its sponsorship of Stewart-Haas Racing.
The 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in animal rescue and recovery in disaster areas will feature its collaboration with the One Cure initiative for three races on the No. 10 Ford Fusion driven by Danica Patrick in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series while also adding a fourth race specific to Code 3 Associates.
