New SPEER Training Now Live: "Sustainability 101"

SPEER has launched a new on-demand training module through the Litmos learning management system! In the first of several series our "Sustainability 101” course dives into the fundamentals of sustainability and equips learners with the knowledge and tools to make a positive impact.


Users who complete this free training will receive .05 CEU credit (30 minutes) upon completion! To enroll, head here and sign up using the code SPEER101. You will then receive an email with instructions for logging in and getting started.


Coming soon: We will also be launching additional training modules focused on Energy Codes Updates and Changes in Texas & Air Quality and Energy Efficiency. Stay tuned for more!

Registration is Open: SPEER's Spring 2026 Building Operator Certification (BOC) Course!

As a subrecipient of the Building Training and Assessment Center (BTAC) grant, SPEER is able to offer our BOC training and certification program for maintenance and operations personnel free of charge! A required $150 deposit will be reimbursed upon the successful completion of the course.


Our Spring 2026 Course will run from February 10th - May 21st. Equip yourself with energy-saving operational strategies and enable your building to become more efficient, comfortable, and environmentally friendly.

PUCT Launches "Ways to Save" Web Resource


To help Texans conserve water, electricity and money during the winter months, the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) has launched a new Ways to Save webpage. Now is the time for Texans to prepare for winter weather – before frigid temperatures spread across the state.


The resource includes tips on how consumers can prepare their home or business for cold weather and reduce energy and water use to save money on utility bills. Tips range from small lifestyle changes to physical updates consumers can make to prepare their homes for winter.
