If you missed the SPI Chamber of Commerce Island Showcase Tuesday night at the SPI Convention Centre you missed an amazing event! We had over 60 Chamber member businesses that joined us and 300 people attended! It was AWESOME! Thank you to our wonderful businesses for participating and to everyone that attended. A special thank you to our volunteers during the evening and to Ed Caum and his AMAZING team.
ServSafe Food Handling Classes Conducted
For many years the SPI Chamber has offered the ServSafe Food Managers Certification Class and Basic Food Handling Class for local restaurants, and other businesses that provide food service. The classes are required and meet State and City requirements. Businesses came together May 10-11th for ServSafe Food Managers Certification and May 12th for Basic Food Handling Classes. Chamber members participating in the classes were City of SPI, Cafe on the Beach, D’Pizza Joint and La Copa Inn. Thank you to Missy Hernandez with MSF Legacy for coming down from San Antonio to conduct the classes and administrator the tests.
The SPI Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee welcomed David Hughston and Chris Hughston with the CAF Airshow! at Coffee and Conversation Thursday morning. David and Chris talked about the upcoming CAF Airshow! scheduled for October 1-3 and the night show that will take place this year. It is exciting and going to be awesome! This is our last Coffee and Conversation until September. Thank you to Mark Haggenmiller and his great team at Padre Island Brewing for hosting us each month, and Karla Scimeca with Karla's Katering for the pastries.
