SPI committee and board applications available
The City of South Padre Island is accepting applications from volunteers willing to serve on one of the City’s boards and committees. Residents can volunteer their time and expertise for the benefit of the community by setting policy, aiding fellow citizens and planning for the Island’s future.
“Serving on a committee or a board is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the community,” stated Randy Smith, City manager. “Community service is an investment to our community and the residents who live on the Island.”
Currently, the City is looking for qualified volunteers to fill terms on the following committees:
Board of Adjustments & Appeals (Must be a resident)
Board of Ethics (Cannot serve on any other board or committee & be a resident)
Convention & Visitors Advisory Board (Must be in the Hotel/Motel, Condo Rental Industry)
- Development Standards Review Task Force
- Economic Development Corporation
- Parks & Keeps SPI Beautiful Committee
- Planning & Zoning Committee
- Shoreline Task Force
Special Events Committee (Must be in the tourism, hospitality, and events industry)
