All things bright and beautiful,

All creatures great and small,

All things wise and wonderful,

The Lord God made them all.

This sweet poem by Mrs. Cecil Frances Alexander was first published in her book Hymns for Little Children in 1848. It became a hymn and today is found in the hymnals of many Christian denominations. It is commonly sung to the hymn tune All Things Bright and Beautiful, composed by William Henry Monk in 1887. Another popular tune is Royal Oak, adapted from a 17th-century English folk tune, The 29th of May. [Courtesy Wikipedia]

James Herriot, a British veterinary surgeon and author, used some of the lines from this poem/hymn for the titles in a series of hugely popular books. The books have touched millions of hearts and have been made into films and television series.

Bring your beloved animals, our fellow Earthlings, to church this Sunday for a blessing!

We will also take time to remember those pets who have passed on. Bring a photo to place on the chancel and light a candle in their memory. We will also bless cremains.

If you won't be present and would like us to include your pet, be they here on earth or above, send a photo with your pets' names and a few words of remembrance and we'll print it and put it on the chancel.

PRAYER & HEALING GROUP

Tuesday, November 19 at 5:30 PM

First & Third Tuesdays of the month at 5:30 PM

No matter who you are and what you believe, we welcome you to join us in an hour of peaceful prayer.

Come pray for yourself, your family and friends, our church / country / world. When we gather, we take time for silent prayer as well as lifting up those prayers that have been offered up on Sunday, both in person and online.

We like to say no experience necessary! You may have never prayed in your life. Or maybe not in a long while. Let us simply gather in a blessed and peaceful time of connection, where we can pray and minister to each other's needs.

No RSVP is necessary, just come to Thomson Hall at 5:30 PM on the 1st or 3rd Tuesday of the month.

All are welcome!

MOVIE CLUB WITH JOE & PAUL

Wednesday, November 20 at 2:00 PM

In the spirit of our Blessing of the Animals, join us for THE WILD ROBOT -- the heart-warming story of a shipwrecked robot on a deserted island, named Roz, who must learn to adapt to its new surroundings. Building relationships with the native animals, Roz soon develops a parental bond with an orphaned gosling. This animated feature has an astonishing 98% rating on ROTTEN TOMATOES from both critics and audiences!

The film starts at 2:00 PM and is followed by a lively discussion. Snacks and beverages are provided; some folks bring something to share.
