Parks Measures - Oh My!
Bellevue's 2022 Parks and Open Space Levy
Last week, Bellevue City Council approved putting an $85 million Parks Levy on this November's ballot.

The 9yr levy would fund investments in Bellevue's open space and park system including $10 million for recreation and community facilities like aquatic and cross cultural centers. These funds could be used to fund the design phase of the new Bellevue Aquatic Center if it is adopted as part of the Master Plan for Bellevue Airfield Park.

Be sure to get out to vote on November 8th in support of park development in Bellevue!

Kirkland Planning - Parks Ballot Measure 2023
As a result of the recently adopted Kirkland Parks and Recreation and Open Space Plan, the City of Kirkland is soon to begin a Recreation and Aquatic Center Feasibility Study to explore several options and site locations.

Last week, City Council approved the formation of the Parks Funding and Exploratory Committee (PFEC) comprised of roughly forty community group representatives and individuals.

SPLASHForward has been invited to sit on the committee and is excited to be a part of this community process.

Our First Summer Camp - This week!

Introduction to Aquatics & Water Safety
In partnership with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Bellevue, Rainier Athletes, Washington State Boating Education, and Samena Recreation and Swim Club, we are holding our fist Introduction to Aquatics and Water Safety Summer Camp!

Our camp will host middle school students with little to no swim skills. Each day they will be introduced to the joy of the water, take swim lessons, and learn water safety skills both in the pool and on the open water!

Building Teamwork and Comradery
The City of Kirkland's annual Lifeguard Olympics was held on Sunday with just over thirty lifeguards. This event is a summer highlight for Kirkland lifeguards where teams compete for points and prizes! The festivities included lifeguard saving contests, paddle board circuits, and triathlons.
