Principal's Message

Dear Families,

I hope you were able to join us today for All School Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Although a very different experience, it is nice to know we started our day grounded in our faith. During the Mass, Father Joel expressed the most important thing we can do is to LOVE. As we continue our journey through Advent, in preparation for the birth of Christ, let us stay focused on how we love others and the world around us.

Advent Prayer Service: Every Wednesday until Christmas break, SLC Wednesdays will include an Advent prayer service. Please take a moment to join the prayer service with your student.

COVID-19 Update - Hybrid / Distance Learning: Now that some classes are in Hybrid learning mode with distance learners, we want to clarify and remind families of a few things:

Changing from hybrid to distance learning: If you choose, for health and safety reasons, to change from hybrid learning to distance learning, then that change will be in effect for the remainder of the trimester.
Stable cohorts of distance and hybrid learners are established for safety and ensure consistency. Onsite cohort learners may not join the distance learning zooms without first contacting the office.
If your child has a COVID-19 symptom or answered any questions on the health screening form in the affirmative, they are required to isolate for 10 days. The student may then return to school when their symptoms improve and they have no fever for 24 hours. The student may return sooner, if they have a doctor’s note. During this time at home, your child can join class as a distant learner.

Pajama Day Tomorrow: Tomorrow is our next spirit day - get comfy and cozy, but don't get dozy in class!

ADOPT-A-FAMILY 2020: This year, you may contribute gift cards in the amount of $25 to Safeway, Lucky or Target to support Alameda Meals on Wheels. All gift cards are due in the office by Tuesday, December 15. Report Cards: All distance-learner report cards may be picked up in the office. Office hours are 8am - 4pm most days (3pm Wednesdays).

PTG Christmas Event : The zoom holiday parties will continue as planned. The pre-ordered gift bags will be available for pick up December 14-16 from 9am-3pm on a cart outside the office. If you have questions please contact Alex Wanigatunga at mrsaw@me.com. The PTG wishes you all a happy and safe holiday.

Crab Feed 2021: The Crab Feed is coming, but will take place in March this year. Look for details in future newsletters!
