Hello Saint Philip Neri Families,
It was a great pleasure to meet and visit with many of you at the Ice Cream Social on Friday. Many thanks to our 8th grade students, their teacher, Ms. Nicole Schuler, and their parents for organizing the ice cream portion of the event. Special thanks to Helen Bouras and our PTG, Doug Evans and the School Board, Alex Sadie and Erin Manning of the Athletic Board and other volunteers who were on hand to seek more volunteers to support our school programs. If I didn’t get to speak with you then, I look forward to meeting you soon.

HEALTH COMMUNICATION: As we begin our school year together, we are so pleased to be back onsite and dedicated to in-person instruction. Our COVID Safety Plan (CSP) is our guide for keeping us all safe and we appreciate families who have been communicating and following guidelines. In following the CSP, we take each illness on a case by case basis. Illnesses beyond COVID still occur. We are in communication with any family whose student is absent. If you notice that faculty/staff or students are absent, please rest assured that we are following the CSP for everyone on campus. Due to privacy laws, we cannot share health information beyond the parties involved. This will be inconvenient at times, perhaps a bit frustrating, but please know that we are doing our best to keep our school community safe by following these protocols. The Daily Health Screening is vital to this effort. Please continue to answer the questions with integrity and caution. PLEASE NOTE: Congestion/Runny nose has been reinstated on our screening. Many thanks to all of you for following the CSP and the DHS to keep yourselves and others safe. Our goal is to stay open for IN-person instruction all year!
This Thursday, September 2nd, is Virtual Back to School Night from 6:30-7:50 p.m. Homeroom teachers will email a Zoom link today for their grade level sessions. I will also provide a brief video for your viewing on Thursday. Here is the schedule for sessions:
- 6:30-6:50 p.m. OR 6:55-7:15 p.m. for TK through Grade 5 (two sessions provided for families with multiple students in those grades), and
- 7:20-7:50 p.m. for Middle School, Grades 6, 7, and 8 individually (please attend your child’s Homeroom session).
Teachers will provide you with an overview of curriculum, behavior expectations, procedures and grade level highlights for each class. If you have specific questions for teachers regarding only your child, please consider emailing them individually after the presentation for more information.
Enjoy your Labor Day weekend, and stay safe and healthy.
Warmly,
Julie Thomas
Principal

The class size will be limited so if you are interested, please go to their website to get more info and to register as soon as possible. They are requiring instrumental masks which are designed specifically for the wind instruments they teach. These can be ordered online through a link on their website.
