Dear SPN families,
The results of the WCEA Accreditation Visit last week were very positive. The Visiting Team’s analysis of our Self Study Report, combined with the evidence they observed and the interviews they conducted with Fr. Joseph, parents, faculty, staff, and students, culminated in a very complimentary and affirming report.
We will not receive the final determination of accreditation until June, but from the scoring, a full accreditation of six years looks likely. Specifically, SPN earned the highest mark possible, Highly Effective, in five of twelve areas and Effective scores in the remaining seven areas. Effective and Highly Effective scores are considered equal in terms of the final accreditation, with Highly Effective signifying an above and beyond expectations rating. As the team explained, some of the areas include goals for growth which, by definition, cannot receive Highly Effective ratings as the goals are yet to be attained. Faculty, staff, the Commissioner and the Visiting Team are all very pleased with the outcome of last week's visit.
Our students will receive their report cards for Trimester 2 this Friday. Like our Accreditation, the report card communicates with you how well your children are meeting academic and behavioral goals and expectations. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s report card, please reach out to their teacher/s to set up an appointment to discuss. Our students are working diligently and their progress is evident. Thank you for partnering with us!
Warmly,
Ms. Thomas
Interim Principal
