Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord

Principal's Message

Dear SPN Families,

This past Sunday was Rejoice Sunday, signifying that we are half-way through Lent, closer to Easter and the promise of the Resurrection. The church vestments change from purple to pink on Rejoice Sunday, and we are inspired to continue our Lenten journey with a renewed commitment to our promises and our sacrifices.

We are well into the third trimester, and we still have plenty to teach, learn, celebrate and acknowledge through the last 9 ½ weeks of school. Let's rejoice and renew our commitments to the goals we can reach to finish the year strong. We must maintain focus on the present moment. “You can’t wash tomorrow’s dishes today,” so stay present, don’t miss opportunities for learning, for joy, for compassion, and for understanding. With perseverance, students will keep working, trying, and striving as they learn. Their success is achievable!

Use these final weeks of Lent to the fullest so that the glory of Easter can be wholly realized. Similarly, help your students stay focused on the goals they have set for the school year so that the celebration of their achievements is authentic and truly deserved.

Rice Bowls: We will be collecting Rice bowls April 8th and ending April 13th in the office. Pictured below are 4th graders Aria and Izzy who raised $190 at their lemonade stand for Rice Bowls!

Updates and Information

COVID Update: We have had 0 school cases since March 8th. We ask that you continue to follow the Daily Health Screening DHS and contact the office to report symptoms and/or exposure outside of school.
No Noon Dismissal this week: The original 2021-22 school calendar had a noon dismissal scheduled for tomorrow. However, that date was modified a few months ago to accommodate the WCEA visit and was deleted from our main "live" school calendar. Tomorrow is a typical 2:10p.m. dismissal.
SLC Spirit Day Tomorrow!: Decades Dress! Get ready for some time travel tomorrow. Free dress rules apply.
2022-23 Student Registration Coming in April: All new and returning families will receive links to register their children for the 2022-23 school year on April 11th. You will have until April 29th to complete their registration. New this year: if you need to submit medical forms (details will be in registration packet) we are ONLY ACCEPTING HARD COPIES of all health forms. Thank you!
First day of School for 2022-23: SPN will start on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022. Our school calendar for next year is almost set and will be included in the registration materials sent out on April 11th.
STEAM Fair: Coming up on Tuesday, April 26th in O'Brien Hall. Preschool-3rd grade will attend from 5p.m.-6p.m. and 4-8th grades will attend from 6p.m.-7p.m. To sign up to volunteer, use this sheet. A box is set up in the office lobby for small donated toys and any donated purchases from this Amazon wishlist.
