it is because we have forgotten
that we belong to each other.”

Dear SPN families,
Our school theme of Belonging holds the potential for strengthening our community and allowing each and every one of us to thrive. By actively participating and contributing to school life, including following our procedures, we fortify our sense of belonging to our school and improve everyone’s experience. By following our COVID Safety Plan, we proudly announce that we have had no exposures or cases of COVID in school thus far. This is a huge accomplishment in the current climate of rising illness and hospitalizations, especially among children. Being prudent in self isolating if symptomatic, you are ensuring that we keep our doors open for instruction. Many thanks to all of you for your vigilance in staying safe and keeping others safe as well.
Our Fifth Grade class has been learning about the importance of the phrase Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (and the 4th R, Rot) as they are training to be our Green Team. The Green Team, led by Mrs. Wight, Ms. Kristen, and Mr. Q, will assist in training all grade levels to STOP WASTE and reduce, reuse or recycle in order to positively impact our environment. I feel strongly about this effort, and I applaud our teachers and students for prioritizing this as a school-wide practice for Saint Philip Neri. The students will be training classes beginning this week.

October Conferences will take place the first week of October. Today homeroom teachers will email home a Conference Request Form for you to complete and submit by next Monday in order to schedule your conferences. Students in grades 1-8 will attend the conference with their parents and teacher. We are offering both Zoom or in-person meetings to help accommodate your schedule and comfort level. Please be sure to submit the Conference Request Form for each of your children so that their homeroom teacher knows your preference for each conference. Teachers will schedule sibling conferences according to family preferences and in coordination with each other. We will confirm your day/time for conferences the week of September 27.
Again, many thanks for your participation and contribution to our school by following our procedures that are designed for the good of all.
