Although there was some confusion with the blessing of the animals, we were grateful that in the end Father Joel was able to say a blessing over our furry, scaly, and feathered friends. Please remind your child/ren not to use the chat feature during Mass. Sometimes the parishioners use the chat and we are requesting that our students do not chat during the Mass.

Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences: Just a reminder that school is dismissed at noon the rest of this week due to our conference schedule.
Picture Day(s): School picture days are next Tuesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 15th from 3p.m. to 6p.m.
- Please be advised that an adult caregiver will need to be present with your student/s - no drop offs.
- Pictures will take place in O’Brien Hall. There will be two cameras and two separate entrances. Only one student per camera will be allowed in the hall at a time.
- Masks and social distancing are required as you wait.

Volunteers for Picture Days: We will need an "usher" posted at each door during picture days. Please contact Mrs. Schmitz in the office if you are interested in helping on one or both of the days. Thank you!
8th grade Portraits: This year the 8th grade portraits will be taken at the studio of Kurt Burton Photography at 20416 San Miguel Ave, Castro Valley. Portrait appointments will be scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd, Wednesday, November 4th, and Thursday November 5th. Parents, you will need to call the studio weekdays between 10am and 4pm at (510) 582-1092 to schedule your appointment. The deadline for making portrait appointments is October 16th.
Material Pick up day: We have some materials for students to pick up from various teachers, the Art Docents, and Ms. Romero, our art teacher. We will have a material pick up for October 13th and October 15th to coincide with school pictures.
Dia de los Muertos: Traditionally, SPN has a beautiful Dia de los Muertos Altar in the entryway to the school. To keep with our tradition of celebrating Dia de los Muertos, we are creating an outdoor Altar. Please see the
flier here for information on this year's project. The butterfly template will be provided - details coming soon.
Waiver: Per our communication last Friday, Alameda County issued a new health order now that we are in Tier 2 - Red, and the waiver process is no longer necessary. The ACOE and ACPH will establish a reopening checklist for all schools. Once this checklist is available, we will update our reopening plan to incorporate new/changed requirements.
