Principal's Message

Dear Families,

As we gear up to welcome students back on campus we are filled with excitement coupled with precaution. We are eager to see and connect with the students and yet recognize that the return to school will be different. We know we will work together in partnership to be safe and to provide a positive student experience.

Annual Fund: Our goal for our annual fund this year is $45,000, and we have raised $12,000 so far- thank you! This is one of our main fundraisers and absolutely necessary for our operations as the cost of tuition does not cover the cost to educate your child. Please help us reach our goal and donate today! Contact Mr. Carter if you would like to add your donation to your monthly bill. Don’t forget to ask your place of employment if they contribute matching funds.

Cohort Update: Please look for an email tomorrow with information on TK-5th grade cohorts and start dates. Please note that there will be a mandatory parent meeting via zoom for each grade prior to the restart of school.

SPN Family Directory: Our 2020-21 directory is in the works! This year the directory will automatically include student and parent names, parent emails, parent/guardian phone numbers and addresses. You may choose to not include your phone and/or address information via THIS OPT OUT FORM. The directory is meant for use within the school community only and is not shared with outside parties or vendors. All contact information is taken from PowerSchool, as submitted during registration (unless you contacted the office with updates since then).

Dia de los Muertos: A flutter of butterflies has gathered on our fence altar. Come take a look and add yours to the group! Here is the flier with information on the project.

The SPN Virtual Book Fair is Coming: This year's virtual Book Fair is starting

November 7th. Please see below for details.

Your family on the big screen: (Well, on our screens at least.) We have two exciting opportunities for you to participate in our virtual community life.

Parent Education Night this Thursday: Please join us for Tech Talk with Mr. Toner, this Thursday, October 22nd at 7:00p.m. Mr. Toner, SPN’s Technology Coordinator, will host a technology town hall discussion on helping your children use technology responsibly. The material presented will be focused on upper elementary/middle school aged students, but should be helpful for parents of students of all ages.If you are interested, please RSVP using this form.

Halloween Wave Parade - Friday, October 30th 11:30am - 12pm: Don your Halloween costumes, decorate your car and drive on over to Fountain Street to honk and wave a spooky hello to the SPN staff! Look for a treat from our SLC - or maybe a trick? Whoooooo can say what might happen, but owl bet it'll be a hoot!

Get involved with the PTG! The Parent Teacher Group is a wonderful way to get involved in the school. The next meeting is November 9th at 7:00pm. All are welcome to join. Attending a meeting counts toward your parent participation hours. Mark your calendar and look for the zoom invite in November! PTG Virtual STEAM event happening soon: Log on for some good STEAM fun on Wednesday November 4th - please see information below for details on how your students can participate.

Make up Picture Day: We are still basking in the joy of seeing students on campus last week for picture days. For those who missed out, there will be a make up day on the morning of Friday, December 4th. Details to come closer to the event.

PTG STEAM Event - November 4th

Our first STEAM event will be on Wednesday, November 4th. Students will be divided up into grade level groups (Tk-2, 3-5 and 6-8). If your child wishes to participate please fill out this google form. You will be able to pick up your science kit in front of the school office on October 29th from 2pm - 4pm.

Leading up to the event, there will be an egg drop challenge. Once you register, more information will be provided. Winners will receive a super cool 3D puzzle.
