Jefferson Avenue Campus - It's Our One Year Anniversary!
It's been one year since the Grand Opening of the Jefferson Avenue Campus. In true DOORWAYS fashion, this past year has been full of many highs and many learning opportunities as we progressed into the next phase of the organization's 35-year history. Along with the addition of the Jefferson Avenue Campus, the new Comprehensive Flexible Housing program, an expanded Behavioral Health Program, a broadening of the Career Services Program and the addition of the 50-unit Allen House; DOORWAYS is poised to provide an increased range of care for those affected by HIV in the region.
As we pause to take stock of the past year and its many accomplishments and blessings, we see a bright future for those we serve and are encouraged by our mission of providing Housing, Health and Hope to those we serve.
Please enjoy the video journey below, which leads up to the groundbreaking and early construction of Elliott Place, 39-units of permanent housing, which is scheduled for completion late in 2024.

BYOBoo Trivia Night Hosted By Friends In Deed
DOORWAYS held its annual BYOBoo Trivia Night Saturday, October 21, at the Glazier's Union Hall. A room full of trivia enthusiasts and supporters enjoyed ten rounds of trivia. Guests also played Dead or Alive and Heads Or Tails in-between trivia rounds. Friends In Deed member, Tim Bono, returned for his sixth year as Master of Ceremonies and wrote the trivia game adding his own Halloween twists to the evening. Congratulations goes out to the table led by Kim Bouldin-Jones and her "90's" team for winning the game and for winning the prize for best table theme.
Thank you to our BOO! Sponsors Brave Inc., Commerce Bank and Crescent Parts for their support. A special thank you to round sponsors: Accenture, Ron Jagels - Edward Jones, Ian Mackey/State Representative - District 99, Metropolitan Community Church, and Will Electronics for their sponsorships and representation. The sold-out evening featured a 50/50 raffle, pick-a-prize raffle, wine pull and a couple of mini games that help raise funds in support of those affected by HIV and homelessness in our community. DOORWAYS was delighted to welcome volunteers from Bank of America and Rudis Leather Society who assisted with setting up the event and decorating the tables, helping to serve complimentary beer from our friends at Urban Chestnut, and sell raffle tickets during the event.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and supported the event. We can't wait to see what Friends In Deed dreams up for next year's spooktacular event!

This month DOORWAYS was doubly recognized. Opal M. Jones, President & CEO, (pictured here) was honored by the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis at their Salute to Women in Leadership Gala 2023. Opal was among an amazing group of women whose extraordinary accomplishments help to make the St. Louis area shine. Congratulations to Opal!

You can bring much needed cheer to families in need during our Resident Holiday Gift Giving drive. A simple act of kindness can make a tremendous impact on a person's life this holiday season.
It's joyously simple: Follow the link, review the list, select a resident and/or family, purchase the gifts and deliver tagged and wrapped to the DOORWAYS Jefferson Avenue Campus (1101 N. Jefferson Avenue, 63106) by Wednesday, December 6.

Tower Grove Pride
DOORWAYS Friends In Deed hosted a booth at the Tower Grove Pride Festival. The festival ran the weekend of September 23-24.
The event drew countless friends of DOORWAYS, both old and new, who visited our tent to say hello during the weekend. It was a fantastic experience and DOORWAYS was blessed to see and connect with so many people in the community while having an opportunity to share our mission. Hearing from so many folks who appreciate and support the programs DOORWAYS provides in the community was energizing. We genuinely cherish opportunities like this to engage with those who might not have known us...but do now!
