🌷 Spring in April - Homes are popping like the flowers in bloom 🌹 | | We are now well into the second quarter of 2025 and spring is here! 💐 This is the time of year real estate starts really moving. Homes are popping up and buyers are out looking for homes. VA buyers are moving into the area with their permanent change of service orders (PCS) and rates are holding in the mid 6's to low 7's - depending on the day 😀 | There has been lots of chatter about the new Fire Hazard Severity Zones that have come out. Keep in mind this is only for LOCAL responsibility areas, outside of Cal Fires Jurisdiction. This seems confusing for us, but remember this is not supposed to have anything to do with your insurance. Insurance companies use their own proprietary risk maps. Depending on the new zoning, if you are involved, you may have to comply with new weed abatement standards, such as Zone 0, which is seriously being considered by the state. The link below is to Zone 0, which, if enacted, will require homeowners to have NO flammable material within the first five feet surrounding their home. That means, no succulents, no plants, no flowers, no bark, no deck, no wood structures hiding your AC units, around the first five feet of your home - even plants on your front porch. How ugly, right? That's the first thing I said when my husband, Aaron, mentioned we will need to implement this around our home. But, if it reduces fire risks, it's worth it. And yes, if you know me, you know my husband has spent his career in the fire service, and he talks A LOT about fire risks. We live on acreage and will be affected by Zone 0 personally. Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Personally, I am already trying to think of ways to still make my front porch look inviting without plants. Drop me a message if you have any ideas. I would love to hear your thoughts. | |

Now let's talk about all of this daylight! With spring in the air, each and every day we have and more daylight and sunshine. ☀️ Hooray! And in the real estate world, things are picking up. Homes are popping up all over, just like the blooms. 💐 It's hard to know what to listen to in the media these days, people are so torn on what to believe with our housing market, but hear me out, no matter the interest rate, the economy, the job market, there will always be sellers that are selling and there will always be buyers that want to buy a home. It's as simple as that. Downsizing, upsizing, job relocation, death, divorce, debt, these are all reasons that homes go on the market and buyers are out buying homes. Houses might be sitting a little longer, in some situations, but they are selling. People want to live the American dream and have a place of their own to call home. 🏡
If you have any questions or real estate needs, I am always here to help.
Have a fabulous April!
Fondly,
Kim
