Dear Parents:

The SPS team is excited to engage our students in learning again!

Though we’ll be doing it differently for a while, learning resumed today using SPS At Home . A variety of online and printed materials for pre-K, elementary, middle and high school students will be used on this at-home platform while our school buildings are closed due to COVID-19.

Please try not to be stressed or overwhelmed. As you become more familiar with the platform and resources, and as you establish new routines and a learning pace that meets your family’s needs, we encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher with questions or concerns. We are here for you and are happy to help.

If you have not yet done so, please visit www.sps.org/SPSatHome to begin familiarizing your family with this new at-home learning platform. SPS teachers will continue to provide guidance for students through email, Canvas announcements and virtual conferences.

Direct links to learning resources and other support are included below.

Other Resources

Grab-and-Go Meal Service
You may continue to pick up free breakfast and/or lunch via carline at the school location closest to you. Grab-and-go meals are available anytime between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 pm. on weekdays - for anyone under the age of 18 years. More than 67,000 meals were provided by SPS last week.

Technology Update
Today, SPS began providing repair services for student devices. You are now able to drop off your student’s device for repair at any school via the carline . Service will be provided for cracked screens, touchpad and charging malfunctions, and other essential issues that inhibit your student’s work. In order to accommodate everyone, repairs will be limited to essential needs only and not cosmetic issues (chips, cracks, etc.).
  • When you drop off the device for repair, plan to provide your student’s name and your contact number so that SPS may contact you when the repair is completed.
  • SPS anticipates that most repairs will be completed within five days, unless parts must be ordered.
  • If you indicated that you do not have internet service at home, please be assured that the district is working to provide a solution and SPS will be in touch with you directly very soon.

We’re in This Together
We will continue to provide regular updates during this time of closure as learning continues from home. Thank you for your patience, flexibility and support as we work to meet the needs of our students, families and community during these challenging times.
