Registration is Open for the 2024-25 School Year

Registration for the 2024 - 25 school year is open! Get all your registration information and the link to register here. Tell your friends!

Many of you have already completed the registration process. Great! So, what happens next?

If you applied for choice (i.e., a school outside your neighborhood school), the school choice priority window runs through Feb. 15. Schools will begin processing applications and will not be able to answer questions about choice acceptances until Feb. 26 at the earliest.

Families can still apply for school choice after the Feb. 15 deadline. Families who do will simply be added to the schools' waitlist in the order they are received and according to priority order designated in School Board Policy 3131.

If you applied for an option school, the priority window also runs through Feb. 15 and you can also continue to apply after Feb. 15. Please keep this page handy for information on option school information nights. Contact your desired school for more information.

If you registered for your neighborhood school, you don't have to do anything at this time. Schools may host kindergarten preview events this spring and summer and will reach out directly to families. In August, families will officially be on the SPS e-newsletter list and will receive information to properly prepare for the school year.

Remember: All students must register with their neighborhood school. You may also then apply for choice or an option program, but we must have you registered with your neighborhood school so we can accurately account for our fall headcount as we plan for staffing.

Note: If you tried to register around Jan. 1 and had trouble inserting your student's birthday, that issue has been fixed.

It may only be January, but we're already busy gearing up for the next school year, and we can't wait to welcome you to Spokane Public Schools!

Kindergarten Readiness Increasing at SPS!

Kindergarten readiness for SPS students increased this year by 7%. This is encouraging data as we are exceeding pre-pandemic levels and are committed to continuing our goal of ensuring all students have access to high quality preschool.

Information for New SPS Families

Families new to Spokane Public Schools often have all sorts of questions as they prepare to send their child to one of our schools. To mitigate worry and anxiety, SPS has put together a web page with information families need to know as they prepare for the 2024-25 school year that includes items on resources for students and families, bus transportation, before and after school care, school supply lists and more.

Please know this page will be updated as the 2024-25 school year approaches.
