Starting next Friday, 1/28 at 6:15 PM and next Saturday, 1/29 at 9:15 AM, we are opening the sanctuary for Shabbat services with limited capacity (advanced registration is required)
Please read this letter to understand vaccination, masking, and registration requirements.
Dear SPS Community,
We wanted to share important updates about our plans for resuming in person Shabbat services, starting next week on Friday, January 28th at 6:15 PM. This will also be Rabbi Ain's first week back on the bimah. Please read below for important information.
- All fully vaccinated members may request to attend weekly Shabbat services. For now, we will have capacity limits so we ask you to register in advance. This week, the registration link is in this email. Going forward, it will be in our weekly emails. On Thursday, we will notify you if there's a spot available for you to attend Friday night services, Saturday morning services or both. If you selected both, and there's a high demand for in person service attendance that week, we will ask you to choose one.
-
Everyone over the age of 18 who is attending must be fully vaccinated. Fully vaccinated for adults means having completed a full vaccination series - 2 shots of Moderna or Pfizer and a third shot given at least 5 months after the second shot, or 1 shot of Johnson and Johnson and a booster. For people under the age of 18, fully vaccinated means they have had 2 shots of the Pfizer vaccine with the second shot at least 2 weeks earlier.
- You must either send your vaccination card to vaccinationcard@spsnyc.org in advance or show it at the door. Everyone will also be asked to complete a health screening form when they arrive.
- All seats will be socially distanced from one another and you must only sit with your pod. Seats will be arranged based on who has registered and their group sizes.
- For those not ready to be in person or if we reach capacity, we will continue to broadcast robust and meaningful services through our zoom, our website livestream, and Facebook Live
- For now we are only opening Shabbat services. More updates for other in person gatherings will come as the Covid rates in NYC continue to go down.
These plans may be adjusted further should circumstances change, but we are glad to be able to resume Shabbat services in person.
We hope to see you soon!
