Student donates over 40 instruments to SPS 🎺

For her Eagle Scout service project, Cherokee student Sara Rubelee collected and donated instruments to SPS schools.

In pursuit of Scouting America's Eagle Scout rank, Sara must complete a project that demonstrates leadership and benefits her community. She chose to collect instruments and donate them to SPS schools because of the comfort and joy music has brought her throughout her life. "I believe all students should have the opportunity to be involved in music programs, no matter their financial status," said Sara. "In helping SPS's phenomenal loan system grow and be the best it can be, we are actively prioritizing these opportunities for students, and that is the most important part of this project for me."

Our Focus: Shannon Jones, CoxHealth CARE Mobile Manager

"We are able to offer services like immunizations and sport physicals onsite at Springfield schools. This allows students to miss minimum class time, normally less than 30 minutes. This also helps parents with decreasing missed work time.

We average around 3,000 encounters for SPS per school year and around 6,500 encounters for all of Southwest Missouri. Our CARE Mobile team continues to stay motivated by the students and families we are able to help. Our success is a direct reflection of our support from our staff, support from Children’s Miracle Network, CoxHealth, Springfield Public Schools and all the Health Services team.”
