Financial Aid
We understand that tuition can be a financial burden to families and St. Philip & St. Augustine Catholic Academy believes that a Catholic School education should be affordable for all families. We offer a variety of Tuition Assistance and Scholarship programs to assist families.
Diocesan Halo Initiative
The Diocese of Dallas Halo Initiative provides tuition assistance to parents who desire to educate their children in a Catholic elementary and/or secondary school in the Diocese of Dallas. The funds are limited and are only available to families with demonstrated financial need. Contact Ginna Curts for information and deadlines for applications.
ACE Scholarships
St. Philp & St. Augustine Catholic Academy has partnered with ACE Scholarships to provide scholarships to families seeking admission to Catholic Schools. ACE scholarships are completely need-based and, once approved, a student’s scholarship can be renewed each year through 12
th
grade at any private school. To be eligible for an ACE scholarship, families must qualify for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. For more information, contact Ginna Curts.
SPSA Catholic Academy Scholarships
These scholarships support families in the St. Philip the Apostle Catholic community who need financial assistance to send their children to St. Philp & St. Augustine Catholic Academy. There is one scholarship allowed per family. In addition, a recommendation letter from the Pastor or teacher which demonstrates the family’s dedication to Catholic education is required. The scholarships will cover up to 80% of the tuition for the student. Once approved, a student’s scholarship can be renewed through 8
th
grade.
Eligibility Requirements:

Demonstrates financial need (FACTS)
·
Meets the school’s entrance requirements
·
Be accepted and enrolled in grades K-8
·
Be current on all financial obligations to St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church and SPSA Catholic Academy
·
Be an active, registered parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church for 3 months
·
Meet school attendance requirements

SPSA Catholic Academy Tuition Assistance
There are limited funds for St. Philp & St. Augustine Catholic Academy families. Parents must complete the FACTS Grant and Aid Assessment to be considered for tuition assistance. Please contact Ginna Curts for information and assistance with the FACTS application.
Scholarship Program
Eligible students may apply for scholarships. Students entering kindergarten through 8
th
grade may receive scholarships. The scholarship can be a multiple year scholarship if the student continues to meet the eligibility requirements and reapplies. The maximum assistance is up to 80% of the current tuition. There is a limit of one scholarship per family.
Eligibility Requirements
1.
Demonstrate financial need
a.
Complete the FACTS Grant and Aid application
2.
Be an active, registered St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church parishioner in good standing for at least 3 months prior to applying for scholarship
3.
New students
a.
Meet the school’s entrance requirements
b.
Be accepted and enrolled
4.
Current students
a.
Maintain a “C” average
b.
Maintain 80 or higher in conduct grades
c.
Be current on all financial obligations to the school
d.
Attendance: Student has 3 or less tardies per quarter and no more than 10 unexcused absences each year
5.
Students can receive the scholarship for multiple years but need to reapply each year
6.
The applicant must be of good character and likely to succeed at St. Philip & St. Augustine Catholic Academy
Applicants should:
1.
Complete FACTS Grant and Aid application
2.
Complete online application form
3.
Obtain a recommendation from the pastor, teacher, or Faith Formation teacher which attests to the applicant’s character and service in the community
4.
Parents need to submit in writing a few lines explaining the importance of a Catholic education for their child and how the parents plan to be involved in their child’s education
5.
Deadline for application is April 1
