SPSA and Kiva

Since 2016 8 th grade classes have sponsored Kiva Microfinance loans to people in the 3 rd world with great needs and tiny incomes. This began with a bake sale by students and continued with matching funds and repayments each year since. Loan recipients can not get normal bank finance and get no government support. People helped usually make less than $200.00 per year. People use the loans to start or improve small businesses take care of health needs, educate children, get clean water, flush toilets, farm animals, a roof or other basic housing. We have never had a default yet. In the past 4 years, we have made 15 loans to people in 12 countries. Students have helped refugees, single parents, elderly, minorities, and folks who really have nothing but just want help and not a handout. Students have selected who got the loans after studying possible candidates on the Kiva Website.

Way to go 8th graders!

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they care? (Benefit) What do I want them to do here? (Call-to-Action)

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"
